What's the difference between a 1S and regular motor? Got a 1S speed passion 3.5 on the cheap to run there in mod. Anything I need to do different? What FDR with mild boost? I may not beat anyone but I'll have a bigger grin

There really is no difference between 1s and standard motors other than it generally means that it's got a shorter stator but that's not going to make a difference in mod. I'm not familiar with that particular motor but I will say that ESC's seem to do fine with any 4.5t but 4.0's and 3.5's really put some heat into them and can be hard to get to work without burning your ESC, even with little to no timing.

What ESC do you have?

XERUN 120A V3.1 ESC

it claims:
With 2 Lipo or 4-6 NiMH
1/10 on-road: >=3.5T, 1/10 off-road: >=5.5T

Perhaps I'll skip the boost....

After you hit the wall at the end of the straightaway, it won't matter anymore ...

I don't care what it claims, it won't do it reliably. I try to run more motor with every new ESC on the market that claims it will and none of them will run more than a 4.5t without worry. The 120a v3.1 is a very nice ESC but I wouldn't put a 3.5 to it on this track without a big fear of it not surviving. I burnt one with a 4.0t and 1° of boost last year. Even burnt the new 160a XR10 Pro with a 4.0t motor.

Stop by when you see me and I'll loan you a HW 4.5t that should work great with that ESC if you like.

I think I'm going to start painting the top of my cars black so they don't show the skid marks. Or, maybe a big bulls-eye sticker.

I've been painting the bottom of my chassis bright orange so the marshals can spot it faster

There are two more big onroad races coming up at Leisure Hours this summer. Both race dates have a full prepped practice day on Saturday before the race so there will be plenty of open practice time to get your ride dialed in.

The track stocks both the Gravity RC pre-mount USGT tires and pre-mounted Sorex tires if you need them.

Who's coming?

Don't forget the free food at the annual BBQ race!

Thanks to Team Associated for sponsoring the Summer Nationals at LHR.

Skip and I should be down for both of those events ... likely will be the only 2 future weekends of 2017 I can make, but they should be good ones!
