Racing at "The Den" - Monroe, WI
The area's newest and largest indoor carpet track began operating Saturday at "The Den" - a roller skating rink in Monroe, WI.
The Den is owned by Kevin Genthe. The racing history at Kevin's place goes back nearly about 15 years and is location is within an hour of Madison, Milwaukee area, Rockford and Freeport in Illinois and Dubuque and Southwest WI .
The track surface is 60' X 90' and is new carpet (the same carpet as Trackside) and is on a smooth hardwood floor. Pit tables, power, etc are sufficient and food and beverages available.
Track opens about 4:30 PM, Racing at 6:30
Saturday - Road Course
Sunday - Oval
Come out and Play!

Be sure to show up. I think you will enjoy it, I did.
I will not be there this weekend (6th)
I know that Scotty was talking about getting some of the Trackside crew together and making the trip down. I think that he was planning the weekend after the 13th. Not for sure.
The program ran very smooth for the first day. No major problems, traction was good, and layout was pretty fast flowing.
As Jim said, plenty of pit space. Tables, electricity, and chairs provided.
-Ottoman-
No special rules, just basic sedan rules. They are running stock rubber for now. I imagine that if enough foam cars show up that they will make a class for it. As for 12th scale, there were not any this past weekend but probably 3 or 4 makes a class.
FYI
Personal transponders are a must..... There are NO transponders at the track.
Any other questions should be directed to Kevin Genthe @ [email protected] or posted in this thread.
Come on out and give it a try!!!!

Just to give an idea, stock rubber lap times were right at 15 sec. Jason and Andy dipped into the high 14's, they will get to mid 14's on the same layout next week.
Track is very smooth so you can run pretty stiff.

How is the carpet laid? I remember hearing once that they were going to re-lay it each week... is that how it's happening?
I look forward to checking it out.

Ottoman, Let me know when you are thinking of stoping down. I will run foam and I bet more of the rubber guys will run foam also. I too have switched to foam since I mostly run at Trackside.
Shane, the carpet is rolled out every week and laid down. Then it is taped at the seems.
You should try and make it on the 13th. It seems like it will be Matt, Jim, George, Andy, probably Columbo, and myself. I think I can talk Bob into showing up. Cesar and lennie sounded like they were interested. I am sure that all these guys will run foam but not 100 percent sure on that.

Sounds fun, I think I can make that weekend. Like to run foam though.
