I talked with f1larry last night and i would not get your hopes up guys.. the building(s) are very big , but he said its 2 guys who use to race a little when they were young. So they have not been in the rc scene for a while from what i got from larry.

Might be worth a stop in after it opens, but i myself am not getting my hopes up.

This right here is the most damning statement towards this being a "race" track....this might turn out to be a great place to bash for all the bashers but from this statement it doesnt look good for the racers. Im more impressed that they will have indoor flying that would be i think a bigger draw than any RC car track would.

If the carpet is something other then Ozite you will distory your car with carpet fibers. I have raced at Tracks that were not Ozite and all it did was ruin my car. If you are racing on something thats not Ozite or a direct copy good luck with replacing hubs and bearings every single race day $$$$$. If this is your standard office carpet watch out for electric discharge as well....thats why you shouldnt run your car on your carpet at home as well. But what do I know.....

Kenji yes racers only run on ozite LOL we also need a race director for the track as well

I would be willing to bet if the underground put down ozite crc carpet where there onroad track is the place would be packed... racers would swarm to it like flys on $hit.

you get what about 8 to 10 for rubber tire stock running on concrete. if crc fastrack was laid down on the concrete you might get 20 or more a week . I know i would be out and i am sure lo, nexus, jimmy, kevin, rob and many others including myself who currently drive a great deal to race would be all over it .

The whole thing about racing weekly is most guys do run in series's and bigger races and its just not worth the time or money (these days) to not run on what the bigger events and series run on.

Kevin is right about the carpet. I started racing way back when on a track that used industrial carpet. My cars looked like they had been dropped in cotton candy after a run. I hope this place gets going. More tracks means more options and more people involved in R/C. The indoor flying is a cool thing too. Just wish I had a track closer to me.

Yes Kenji, Kevin is joking but correct about the effects of non Ozite carpet.

Did I see your name listed at a race this past weekend in Danville?

Indoor foamies, electric heli's and bashing would bring in way more people then just TC racers.

Let me fly!!

Yes you did. Kole his friend Ian, Craig, Nikki and oodles of the Indiana guys went to Jtec and had a BLAST! Donny and his crew know how to run a great race and create a fun atmosphere. They've got a bunch of pretty darn good racers down there too.

I'll be starting a new thread in the IL forum about the place, soon.

Will the type of carpet keep you from racing in Carol Stream?
