Well there are two Wheeler classes to choose from.

1. 13.5 class which seems to have consistent participation.

2. For the open wheeler class I have seen anything from a 6.5 on up. I guess it really depends on how much h.p. you can handle and still turn fast laps.

Hi! I'm thinking of getting into Stock Buggy and had a couple questions. What buggies seem to be most popular and what tires are people running? I was looking for a RC10b4.2 roller but really I'd probably get what ever you have the most parts on the wall for. Thanks!

The b4.2 is old school and you will stuggle in this highly competitive class. Most are running the B5M and the new TLR 22 3.0

I should clarify... I'm not worried so much about being competitive. I live over an hour away and this would be a once in a while thing. I actually considered just running in Sportsman with a buggy. Purely for fun.

Most people are running JConcepts gold dirtwebs and AKA clay typos/chainlinks.

At the chili dump race, didn't Scotty TQ'd 17.5 with a B5r (same geometry/shocks as B4.2)? An rm buggy maybe easier to set up and drive for a less experienced guy.

FWIW I haven't yet managed to run as well with my new mm car as I was last year with an rm car but that's practice as much as anything (didn't race all summer/fall).

Nope.

Dragonfish, my opinion is to pickup one of the latest cars on the market like Fabulous suggested and here is why. The kit you mentioned is no longer in production. When you buy used you never know what you are going to get and the chances of finding a B4.2 new in the box is slim to none (looks like you have a lead on a roller). Most facilities that have a track have very few parts hanging on the wall now for the older cars. Sure they can get them but they will most likely have to order them for you and since you are just starting out in buggy there will be learning curve where you will have that one incident that could ruin your day. It sure is nice to walk into the shop and pickup that part that you need to get back on the track. In addition, when you build a kit, you learn about it making dis-assembly and maintenance easier.

No matter what direction you go, you will always find people willing to help you at Trackside.

Friday is the last night of racing on the current layout. If you want to show it who the boss is you better not wait!

After racing we will take up the pipes and knock her down. Track rebuild will continue thru the weekend. If you can spare a few hours rumor has it lunch will be served, but I can't confirm the rumor.

Suggestion, when you do come down to help bring some gloves. Your hands will thank you for it.

Racing will resume Tuesday night.

Alrighty, the new layout is in and the first run on it was this past Tuesday.

Now is your chance to get to show it who the boss is tonight! If you can't make it tonight don't worry, there is racing this Saturday. Not only can you race but if you want you can be JT's valentine! If my memory is still accurate, poems directed to JT were read so bring your imagination and that awesome poem of yours might be read.
