ProStar Racing

No racing next Wed. We start the second points series Jan 3. For those of you interested, the 4 cell oval racing will feature 19 turn motors this time. So there. Have a happy holiday.

Troy_Konitzer 09-30-2007 07:30 AM

So who's in for some fun Wednesday night racing with the Prostar Club at Victory Hobbies?

Who's racing what classes?

Quinn is super excited to get his Gen X on the track and I'll probably wheel the rubber sedan again.

Troy and Quinn Konitzer

This Wed would be Oct.3rd sorry I forgot to put the date on the last post

Brian F 10-01-2007 04:27 AM

Just an FYI... the shop and track will be open at 3PM on Wednesday for anyone that wants to come down and turn some practice laps.

See you then! Brian

Brian F 10-04-2007 08:51 AM

Well I talked to Chuck this morning... sounds like practice night was a success! Got a road course layout set that doesn't require pulling up the ice for the oval track and the changeover was taking about 3 minutes.

Next week is the first week of points!

Brian

Quinn Konitzer 10-04-2007 02:07 PM

Can't wait for next Wednesday:):tire:

Brian F 10-04-2007 08:40 PM

Just an FYI for anyone not familiar with Prostar Racing here in Green Bay. they run both an oval and a road course program on the same evening. They have been doing this for many years and are very efficient at changing the track over between rounds. You don't need to be a club member to race on Wednesday nights.

So anyone interested in stock rubber touring car and 12th scale road course and/or carpet oval racing with both pan cars, touring chassis, stampedes or trucks the doors open at 3PM and racing starts at 7PM every Wednesday night.

Thanks! Brian

what are you guys doing with brushless in sedan? That is what I have been running at victory and do not own a brushed motor.

Mr casual 10-06-2007 06:42 AM

The brushless sedans are running Nascar bodies on the oval.

Why dont you run 5 cell brushless with the stock sedans. Lower weight obviously but its about even on the track i think.

Do Old guys get an exemption from this rule?;)

I tried oval and its just not my thing. Wed nights most of the time will work better than monday nights.

R/C Anonymous 10-06-2007 08:32 AM

WEdnesday nights for me also. Gotta support both places at once. :)

No problem, Skip. Just don't win every week.

Mr casual 10-07-2007 08:47 AM

Who's in for 12th scale Wed. nite? Stock or 19turn?

Quinn Konitzer 10-07-2007 09:38 AM

I'll be there Wed. for 12th scale. I was planning on running stock, but i can run 19t.

Troy_Konitzer 10-08-2007 05:29 PM

I understand there will be another class this year. I've heard some racers talk about using a 4wd touring car, rubber tires, Nascar style body, with brushless 13.5 or 19T. What're the actual rules for this class?

Thanks,
Troy

Mr casual 10-08-2007 07:33 PM

I think you pretty much covered it, except for the 19 turn part.

Brian F 10-09-2007 06:36 PM

Tomorrow is the first night of the points season and the kick-off of the season!

I guess 19 turn IS included afterall. sorry.

Troy_Konitzer 10-11-2007 04:57 PM

I was amazed with the power of that 19-turn versus those brushless systems. I'm going to hold onto the brushless stuff for a while yet.

How many 19 turn 4 cell do you have running.
I will be coming down soon but still have to many things that have to get done before racing.
I just want to know what to set up for oval racing.
Carnut

jamcar 10-12-2007 06:59 PM

oval racing

Hi carnut there where 5 pancars running 19turn there were a few others that did not run this week. I think there were 3 touring cars running the oval this week also sounds like there will be more coming out later on this is 19turn 0r brushless but i am not sure witch brushless they run. only had 2 touring cars run the road course. 3or4 12th scale road course. I think there were 3 stampede trucks
see you in a couple weeks

carnut54 10-12-2007 07:38 PM

Sounds good. I am have some problem setting up my new car but will go to the shop in the morning to find a fix.
It looks like three more weeks before I can race. Next week I will be in Milwaukee, The week after I will be up north again to finish my painting job so maybe the week after going up north I will be there. I am setting up the pan car 19 turn. Jamcar what Gears are you running for 19 turn 4 cell pan cars?
See you all then.

Later
Carnut

jamcar 10-13-2007 10:31 AM

carnut54 10-13-2007 11:48 AM

I guess we will have to wait to find out then. I got the car fixed today. The kit had the wrong top plate for the way I wanted to set it up as. All is ok know I think. I am getting ready but still have alot of work to do with my battteries cycling them to get them to work good from sitting so long. Say Hi to your better half and we will be there soon for some good old oval racing.

Great showing this week! It was some fun racing, and looking forward to next week!:):tire:

burm 10-18-2007 04:39 PM

I was very impressed with the number of entries last night. There were 7 sedans which was a far cry from the 2 last week. Geoff and I had a blast, and the whole Victory thing works out great! I didn't plan on doing any puzzle racin' but it is working out. Needless to say, there was some great tight racing and we had a blast.:):

Scrad 10-18-2007 07:48 PM

Burm, what are you guys running for sedan on Weds. I assume it is rubber, so is it 13.5 or stock?

We might stop in next week. What time did you guys get done at?

Brian F 10-18-2007 09:14 PM

The touring oval class looked pretty fun to me too! Close racing and lots of racers.

As for when was racing o finished... I had the place locked up and was leaving at 10:30 so racing must have been done shortly after 10. It all went really smooth for a fairly large crowd.

Looking forward to next week! Brian

burm 10-19-2007 04:12 AM

Chad, we ran brushed stock motors and I think everyone else did too. That would be cool if the pointer crew popped in. Any pointers going to dh sat? Fish or race, that is the question!!

Scrad 10-19-2007 04:17 AM

I think Matt, Dan, and Paul are going to DH. I have to work.

Brian F 10-24-2007 06:53 PM

A good crowd here tonight for Prostar night. Even 12 Stock Rubber Touring! Cool!!!

Thanks to the crew from Point making the trip!

Check-out www.liverc.com to see the the racing action.

Brian

burm 10-24-2007 08:27 PM

Yeah, really a great time! Chaulking up the win was Geoffry, with some really close guys on his heels. Thanks again pointers, always a pleasure to race with you, even you danno.. Maybe Karlos will be out next week for a piece of the action???

R/C Anonymous 10-25-2007 03:50 AM

Very close racing. I think almost everyone was on the same lap in the main. :)

Brian F 10-25-2007 11:06 AM

Geoff's the man!!

Quinn Konitzer 10-26-2007 07:23 PM

Some good racing on Wednesday! Hope to see you guys there in 2 weeks. Remember, there is no racing this week.

Brian F 10-27-2007 03:07 PM

Even though Prostar will mot be running their program, Victory R/C will be running a road course program this Wednesday night. It will be road course only as we are leaving the course set up all week for practice through the Midwest All-Pro Series race this Saturday 11/3.

Thanks! Brian

R/C Anonymous 10-27-2007 07:18 PM

Hopefully be there for some close action again! :)
