On another note, has anybody seen the rerelease of Tamiya's TA02? It comes with the FRP chassis and shock towers, universals all around, upgraded drive shaft, full ball bearings, and set up as the SW chassis using a Porsche 934 Jagermeister body. I've already preordered one from Tower.

It really is a good choice for Tamiya though, for their 40th anniversary. The Jagermeister Porsche 934 first debuted in 1976, the same year Tamiya released their first car (the Valiant Porsche 934). The Taisan 911 GT2 was the original (and for a long time, the only) body released on the TA02SW chassis, and that was released in 1996 (twenty years since their first release, and 20 years ago this year). And while the Jagermeister livery is gorgeous and fitting, it also means the Valiant livery stays a classic, without a rerelease.
I'm stoked about the factory brand new hopups for the TA02 chassis as well. Most of these parts have been quite difficult to come by as the years have gone on, and now they're coming in-box. If there's a way to mount the rear stabilizer bar on the SW, it'd have all the hopups minus the foam bumper.

Tamiya should have come out with a Japanese model instead for their 40th anniversary: 1976 Toyota or other, not a Porsche.
It should be as original as possible....

Hi guys, good to see the oldies are used like they should be.
I drive a 414M 'WCR' and it's superb, I don't need one of the latest chassis hehe
This car is ultra-light and has all the hop-ups. It even has a full magnesium screw set

IIRC, at least the HPI Pro2 came out before the Tamiya. At least I think people were already racing the Pro 2, when the word came out, that Tamiya was finally building a real raceworthy car... (previously being limited to the hopped up TRF TA03).
