The heavy line of showers is in Greensburg now. Moving at 30mph so the back edge should be through Someset by 1pm giving us plenty of time for track prep.

Just got a weather report from the folks at Kennywood. They are expecting the weather to clear up in the next 60-90mins. That should translate to the weather being clear in Somerset around 3-3:30pm. Depending on wind speed in the mountains.

How fast will the track actually dry in cool overcast conditions? I get that it would dry quickly in the sun but there isn't going to be any sun.

If I come I have to leave at 1:00 to get there, get setup and run a couple of laps. 1:30 at the latest.

So far we have not gotten any heavy rain. It's been mainly all light rain. Headed to the track around 12-12:30 and will update again on conditions. If this stops by 3-3:30 as Tony mentioned, it can be ready for tonight.

The heavy rain line is at the Westmoreland-Somserset borders now. The line of showers is actually weakening. No red in the images now just some orange and yellow and that even diminished.
The skies here in Pittsburgh(by Kennywood) have lightened up and the rain has stopped. I trust the Kennywood forcast because they wanted to close, but said it was going to clear up around 1pm and they are expecting an afternoon crowd

This looks very much like it will break in a couple of hours, but the line of showers goes clear to Chattanooga, and it is all headed our way..... It is pouring on the 271 mountain... To quote the late, great Myron Cope, double Yoi!!!
