Steve,
If they were giving you a good deal on the Hitec servo I wouldnt pass it up. The Hitec servos in my T4 and GT are 2+ yrs old and they still work great. But thats 1/10 scale which is not nearly has hard on servos compared to 1/8 Scale. Conversly, I bought a $50 Airtronics 94162 throttle servo for my old 1/8 buggy that lasted all of 2 weeks.

Opening Night Test & Tune Impressions:
Touring car:
- All the touring cars were working really well. Rubber tires and stock motors should make the racing tight this year. By the end of the night, practice sessions turned into trains of touring cars. When everyone showes up there are going to be 6 or more guys capable of winning on any given night. (assuming Bat Masterson stays semi-retired)
- Allshouse's Lipo/13.5/JRXSr was hooked up. He put down fast lap 13.1
- Based upon a test drive of Jeff Boyles TC5 AE has another winner
- For anyone running 13.5 Brushless - 2 words - GEAR UP! Mine could not keep up with a 27T monster stock until I was up to a 31t pinion + 72t spur.
- Keep your tires warm. C27s were really good. CS22s might have even been better.
- 5000 mah lipo + 13.5 brushless = 10+ minute run times
Oval Pan Car:
- The track got better as the night went along. It didnt take long before Markle, Harding, Kalemba, Cisney were dropping in low 5 second laps.
- I got a lot of help from everyone - thanks. I found out first hand that removing a couple rounds of wedge and installing 2 different tires on the front can make a huge difference.
- Now I just need 'More cow bell'.
If the traction stays high, expect 12 second touring car laps and 4 second pan car laps.

I am going to get this servo for the steering on my truggy.
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/4478
333 oz-in of torque should move the tires back and forth, the standard servo in it now has 117 oz-in of torque.
What was the battery charger you were telling me to get for the Rx pack Ed?
I'm getting together a winter wish list so I can be ready for next season

Steve, You're going to be very happy with that servo. You will feel a big difference in your steering.
If you are just charging NiMH receiver packs I would recommend an economically priced digital AC/DC peak charger like the MRC Superbrain 960. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&P=SM&I=LXRST9 or Duratrax Pirahna Digital: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXCLD5&P=ML.
Be carefull, once you start realizing that charging batteries is a lot simpler and cleaner than nitro, you might end up with an electric truck or something!

Wholy cow , that should steer the wheels in your real car !! and the transit aint too bad either ! big difference in what your use to fo sure !
The only reason i said hitec is so so is because a couple of us that got crt.5's back in the middle of summer all went with hitec's and all of us had at least one of them blow up with little or no use on them . although those were the little micro servos too so that might have had a little to do with it . all the high end airtronics servos i've had i never had any problems at all ! just keep your reciept , hitec is good for warranty on thier servos . The thing that sux is you have to send it in to them and do with out a servo untill it comes back.

The last week of outdoor is next weekend, the 13th. Then, we go indoors the 20th. Bring half's and shaved. The 21st (Sunday) is the indoor ROAR Regional. I don't think I am gonna run that.

Oh, forgot, my GT2 is glitching bad. My mod truck was great tonight. Broke less than 1 lap into the main

That jump in front of the drivers stand is my favorite.
