EddieO,
What is your opinion on my using the stock Monster springs on my Br00d ProStock motor for 1/12th scale stock racing?

Bill the Red and Green Spring are a great combo on Eddie's motor's for 1/12th scale.
If the track is more spread out and faster you might even try a Green on Both Sides.
I did the same thing to one of the Motor's Eddie Sent me and it's a screamer.Im actually at Green/Green due to our track being 100x60 and pretty fast right now.If it tightens up I may have to go back to red but for now I dont see it.
I also Took an exacto blade and put the tip in the VERY center of the - side brush.Start twisting the blade into the brush making a Hole.
You Probally wont notice alot but it did help on brush wear and Motor Temp just a tad bit.
You will notice you will get MORE runtime when switching to softer springs due to Effic gains.
Goodluck running 1/12th with the monster.Eddie makes some VERY NICE motor's.
When cleaning the motor remeber to clean the brush hoods as well when cleaning.

Thanks for that information.
I am cleaning the brush hoods out with my comm stick. Is that all you mean about cleaning the hoods?
The Stockton carpet track is 48 x 110.

TexRacer hit it spot on. The red/green spring combo is usually always a decent place to start with any stock motor. Genrall for sedan you'll go stiffer, but it's still a gfreat starting point. Lately I've been running trinity 4499 brushes with a verticle slot in them. And green springs all around. Worked alot better for me than a full brush and red/green.

Can you expand on why the 4499 brushes and green springs all around? I don't know much about electric motors.... and haven't really tweaked anything on the motor on 1/12th. I pretty much just tell Eddie what I need the motors for and he send me the appropriate ones.

1/12th scale uses only 4.8 volts, which in effect causes the brush to bounce less on the comm, so you use less tension without worry of additional arching.....and in a lower voltage application, all a stiffer spring would do is put additional drag on the comm and you will actually LOSE power.
I usually start with red/green for 1/12th scale on monster or epic roar stocks....now if its a fairly open track, I will drop the tension to reduce drag on the comm even further....usually a green/green...sometimes even tweaking the negative spring to be slightly less than a normal green.

Got it. I do remember running the lightest springs I could find when we ran 1/12th Mod.
So why the 4499 brushes with the slot? I'm just using 767 full face with the C2 right now. Is this for stock motor only, or I can use them on my C2 too? Seems like everyone we are racing 1/12th with are getting Br00d power after seeing mine ran 2 weeks ago, so I'm going to need an edge.

I think the slot adds some power, but tat the same time reduces some friction. Acts very similar to a cavity I think. It Provides cooling as well to keep efficeincy up. I've never run slots in 19T, I generally just run a full face brush. The 4499 also gives the motor a touch more rpm than the reedy 767, at least thats what I found. Eddie can probably give a better explanation though.

My balancer is finally fixed.......had to fly Jim all the way up from California to get it working correctly.....
If you have a modified motor on order (including handwoud 19t), they will ship this week.....
Sorry for the delay....
Also, I have plenty of V2 based mods in stock.....
Website is gonna be up soon.....won't be much longer.
