I am trying to fit a VX3 speed control into a TLR buggy in Mid-motor config. It would be extremely helpful if I could get the wires lower.
Do the solder posts on the VX3 serve any purpose other than a convenient solder point? Would it be harmful to remove the posts and solder the wires directly to the board? I ask because I know Tekin has always expressed this in negative light. They state the solder posts act as a heatsink.

No issue to remove the post, but make sure not to over heat the ESC while removing the post.
you can also solder the wire to the post side way

I just want to thank Anthony and Eric Anderson from ORCA for standing behind their products after the battery pole reversal. It could not have been handled any better. After the initial disappointment, I may be an ORCA customer for life.
Thanks again

Samethings for me! I am always faster with my tx 17.5 timing past 1.5mm past sign + vs rx-3 17.5 blinky mode with vx-3 esc!
I tryed many different fdr with 2 motors back to back on carpet with my t4-14 and always faster with tx motor!
need to know a good direction to gear and timed my rx-3!

Timing plus 4 ticks
FDR 3,8ish
Always check temp on first run after 3min. Add or subtract gear based on motor temp from here. Motor will smell when it gets to around 140deg F, this is normal. Try not to let it get over 150 with a fan. It will start to fade if it does.

I hate to sound like a complete doofus.....but here goes. I have been out of the hobby for a while (9-10 years) and have recently jumped back in. At our last club race I was in a hurry to make my heat and plugged my battery in backwards. I discovered this is a very bad thing to do with the new esc.s and lipo packs!
My question is two-fold. Is it worth while sending an esc in to be repaired (Orca VXX) and if so, does anyone have the company info for service.

I have a 21.5 that I use for USGT with the timing at the plus mark on the motor. I would like to use it in my mini for the Tamiya race this year. What is the maximum timing for this motor? Unlike my other motors where I can turn the timing up to a max point and it stops, I can turn the timing plate almost 180° from the printed marks on the motor. Would anyone have any pictures or recommendations for timing?
Thanks
