Yep. The numbers don't mean a thing if you can't put it down on the track.

Hello. I also use promatch batteries. I have two packs that I bought last summer. I have not used them very much, although when I do (I race stock) it feels like I am running Modified. The numbers on the label of the batts are as follows: 1.170-1.172 and 440-445 secs. I have a Reedy Quasar Pro v1.2 (post recall version) and when I charge the batteries at about 5.5-6 amps it only peaks at about 9.2-9.0 volts with about 2800 mAh while my NICDs and practice 3000 batteries peak at about 10.2-10.5 volts and get their full mAh number (like 2400, 3000, 1800, etc.). What is going on? Don't get me wrong, the batteries have good punch but I want to know if there is anything I can do to improve their numbers (peak voltage and mAh). Is this normal or is something wrong? Thanks for any and all input you can give me.

Hi Brimhall. The peak voltage reading that you see on your charger gives you a good indication of the Internal Resistance of the battery. Typically a lower peak voltage such as 9.0V-9.2V would be more desireable than one with a greater than 10V peak. I bet that the Promatch pack feel more punchy than your other packs, it's because a lower IR would give you more punch. I hope this makes sense.

In regards to how many mah that go in, do you discharge or tray your batteries before you put them on the charger? It sounds like there is some charge left in the battery before you put the shrimp on the barbie

I can either bulb them down or I discharge them on my Quasar Pro at 20 amps. And as a matter of fact, yes, they do feel a LOT more punchy, but the initial "punch" wears away quickly compared to my other packs. Any solutions? Thanks.

You need to tray your packs every time. I use the ProMatch Smart Tray for 24 hours then remove the pack and let it rest until your next race. Your packs will have more charge mah, more run time and posibly better voltage(but not worse).

Default Order problem

Hello everybody,

I try to reach promatch by mail for 1 week and they never answer me back!
I've send them money by paypal 8 days ago to pay 6 batteries and the shipping fees. They told me that they had my money on their account. And no more news, I've paid for EMS service (I'm from france) so they had to provide me a tracking number.
I'm still waiting for my batteries and news from them.

It's a big company, so what happen!!!

Tray your batts , you will find that the promatch cells will wake up with renewed life
charge them at 5.5. discharge them with your reedy @20a, them tray them with a 3amp (ish) board, lrp, nosram, integey, robitronics, promatch, all do this board & cos they discharge at a lower rate(3a) the voltage on the cells won`t bounce back up right away like they would on the 20a discharge
I still use 3 month old 17+ they take 3900 ish,peak @9.18
The peak will be higher on the 24`s & 3`s because they are on the way out
Brand new fresh cells peak around 9.1- 9.2 mark if they start to go higher then it`s a sign that a cell is on the way out
Nicads usaually peak around 9.6-9.8 if i remember that far back

reedy is good to get them discharged quickley
Bulb is the same sort of thing but a bit more crude &cheaper
Tray is the best cos it does the cells individually & that is where you are losing your capacity, cos the cells are not being balenced like they would on the tray

That is not normal Hugo, I will contact them today and see whats up. I know if PMRGirl checks in she will handle it. Hang tight and it will get straightened out.
