Hi Jason,

I had a problem like that a while back, had to do what you did and get a new screen name to get on. Just PM Shane (Futureal) and explain the problem include your internet provider and browser. He'll be able to tell you what to do so you can at least get to your PM's.

But the new name is so you!!!

Lynn

Jason, he actually could've just changed your old one, then you'd still have as many posts

Default Xray 350 forward chassis

Jason,

Your BMI Xray with batteries moved forward 0.350 was amazing tonight. Fastest lap was 12.17 and I went 12.19!!! And again in Main-fastest lap was 12.13 and I went 12.14 I am NEVEr this close to fastest time of day. YOu might want to take some measurements as well and make the extensions for the steering knuckles out of 2.5mm stock. They really make the car stable turning in and more steering in sweeper type corners. They hurt you a bit turning in in stock, but once car changes directions, its fine again.

What's the purpose of having extensions to the steering knuckles?

I recall Josh saying it smooths the steering out; I know some where recently on his thread there was some info about it. I know it was brought up on MyTsn.com and they said it was best on Foam/Carpet. I haven't tried it but I plan too see what it does with Foam/Asphalt. I also know it was said if the car takes a hard hit to the front end it (at the wheel) it can wreck the steering knuckle due to the extreme angle of the linkage.

I'd take a set of the extensions.

Neil,

I did it so I was copying Josh's set-up exactly from the carpet/foam races he has attended. Exactly as PM racer said-more high speed steering, more steering in sweepers and smooths out steering. For me running stock-it almost makes the car feel sluggish to change directions, but in a comfy sort of way. I was going to try taking them off-but JOsh has said-he hasnt found a situation when taking them off was faster. So I am leaving mine on.

I saw the prototypes on Alex Lopez' car at the Reedy Race. However, I didn't see them on Ralph's or Josh's car. Later in the race, Alex removed them. Perhaps it may be good for carpet and not asphalt.

Billy-Everythng you said about the car, chassis and extensions is coming true. First racee on the car and everyone who drove it liked it and one even said it was the easiest to drive Sedan he had ever driven. The rest just said it was FAST and they liked it. But in this case-it was easy to drive and FAST too. And-in case you r wondering-the fast guys WERE there!!

I do-I;ll post it tomorrow. But in a nutshell-the two holes on the steering knuckle are 4.5mm part and from the outer hole on knuckle to the #3 position is a further 5.5mm

Everythng is a very tight fit.

Ray

Edit: put in wrong figures! Correction is in bold.
