Banzi Nation keeps on rolling at the 2008 Bullet Town Shooutout!!! Proud to report that Banzai had another successful outing this weekend at the Shootout!!
After the first round of qualifiers, I had the Banzai Powered Losi XXX-T CR sitting on top of the pack, feeling really good about how the truck felt. As round two came up,the track changed a little and traction picked up, with a little to much side bite in my truck, the sweepers were a little tough, and I got bumped off the top spot down to second. After a few setup changes, I was ready for round three, the top three trucks all fought hard fr most of the race, with all three of us above the previous tq pace. With about a minute to go, the guys running 2nd and 3rd made a bobble and gave me the space I needed to put the Banzai back on top.
Mod truck was running an 8min a-main, so I knew it was no sprint race but that I needed to be consistent the entire race. At the start tone again the top three all immediately began the battle.I was able to maintain the top spot with alot of heat on my bumper. With about 3 minute left, the 2nd and 3rd place runners really started battling each other and making mistakes whick gave me the margin I needed to take the win. After running the entire 8min main without needing a marshall, I ended up putting a lap on the entire field, thanks again to the BANZAI NATION!!
And as always, I am out with a BBBBAAANNNNZZZZIIIII YYYEEEELLLLLLL!

Mornin Mom and Scott, sorry I did not report about the action in the mains, but they finished late yesterday and we had a long drive home. Alex has school today, so we had to be sure to get home for that. Priorities !! Anyway, Alex finished 2nd in the 2wd SRS class, beating out Bill Koch, then finished 3rd in the 4wd SRS class. Frank Root took 1st place. The mains were 15 minutes each and the brushless motors and controllers were top-notch, no heating issues or controller problems. Bill Koch was nice enough to lend us one of his Lipo's for the 2wd SRS race and that really helped Alex run a great race. People like Bill don't come around very often, very nice guy. Alex had a great weekend, showed a lot of patience. See you all soon, thanks for all the support.

Mom - just wanted to say thanks for the stock motor tips

I managed to hang in and hold my own against a bunch of 17.5 in 12th scale

I start off with an awesome run (the faster of the weekend for me) in the 3rd qualifier, but an unfortunately bump knocked me out of the qualifier - moved my motor off the pinion but oh well..

mains was a similiar repeat of the 3rd qualifier - a bump moved the motor and took me out...

But I made the "A" with a solid 9th place qualifying Too bad, I also think I over geared myself - I figured I'd shoot the moon and had nothing to loose, but I think I should have left the gearing where I was at

But either way, my motor was awesome all weekend Thanks for everything!! Now to "return" the motor to its regularly scheduled usage, my TC
