Serpent 705

During qualifying, it was slightly cloudy. It was warm, but not hot. Traction was amazing. My car hooked up perfectly. For the mains, the sun came out and the track got super hot. With the same setup I had run in qualifiers, my rear end was uncontrollable during the main. It was like driving on ice. I would have thought traction would get better with heat. Or is there an optimum temperature, above which traction gets worse? I was running 45/40 durometer. Would have I been better off using 45/42, or 45/45?

New HUGE Florida Track!
Hi guys,
Anyone in the South Florida area needs to know about our new track, and big events coming in the month of August.
http://www.PalmBeachSoftware.com/domains/bethesda
This is just the staging server, and will be moved to our club domain in the next day or so.
Anyway, make sure you check out the track. It's big enough for 1/5 scale! 16 foot wide lanes, huge pit lane, and the track works! Plenty of "FAST" and plenty of technical mixed in.
The 1/8 scale cars were blazing doing probably 70mph down the long straight this last Sunday.
We've been working on this for quite a while, and have over $7,000 invested. 10' high drivers stand with canopy, too.
We're having a BIG TROPHY race on August 3, and you are all invited. All racers will get a free barbeque lunch with their entry fee!
Can you guys check out the site and let me know what you think? I hope some of you can make it down and run with us. We're a group of pretty cool guys that like to race and have FUN! You are all WELCOME!
Thanks

It would also explain why I was not getting any on-power steering. I went through two side drive belts in one day. Any idea why? Both were already on thier way out.

I notice that if the pulley flanges are installed wrongly, it bites the belt in a long run.
The mating pulley flange facing the belt should be smooth and not on the sharp side. Check it and you'll notice one surface is curved and the other is flat and sharp.

InitialD,
Does serpent make those hex screws you are using to screw in the graphite brace? I am trying to get away from the phillips.

I measured and the one from Impact is slightly shorter than the one for the 705. About less than 1 mm or so. Anyway, I'm using the Impact ones in my 705 and they work fine.

Nice I hear that the NS12 3 port puts out about the same as the Rody tuned 3 port. Let us know about it when you get to run it over the weekend and report your personal findings.
Friday is coming Please post some pics of the NS12

Jonathan, I run side by side with him all the time. With my MS Novamega 5 port engine, I'm still not able to pass him on the straights It makes my MS engine look like a turtle The NovaMax has gobs of low end power and screams very easily on the top end. It's pretty scary since the engine runs unbelievebly cool after making that much of power. Under racing conditions, it does not temp more than 230 F. It can idle easily the whole tank when the engine is heated up to temp. Very easy to tune and once set, you only need to play around plus minus 5 minute turns on the HSN. That's all. Fuel consumption is about the normal 6 to 6.5 minutes.

I've seen the nova ns12 this past weekend run and it screams on the straights at a cool temp. of 220deg. It out ran modded engines and has power to spare. I will tell you my findings after this weekend. I'll posts pics fri. on my chassis.Did you guys hear that Nizzee jumped ship and purchased a mtx3, I'm so sadden.
