6° caster blocks...
anyone using them, i never see that box checked on a set up sheet but wondering when and if you are finding them helpful and how they effect steering. Looking for more sterring with VTA on asphalt, also considering going with the low split blocks up front to drop roll center.
thanks.

ImacFanatic, the 6deg caster blocks are like any other option parts...something to use for tuning the car. For me I use them when I want more mid to exit steering. Not saying this the only thing people use them for but this is how I use them. Best thing to do is go to your local track and do back to back testing with 4 and 6 degree blocks. You will learn first hand how they make the car feel to you when compared to 4deg blocks.

Hello all can anyone share with me the instructions for the short shock conversion kit. I snagged a second hand set with no instructions and want to completely rebuild them before testing

Let us know how you like them once you get them installed, and if lap times improve. I've been on the fence about getting them.

Just noticed the part numbers are not on the instructions are the o rings fairly standard or do I need certain ones which swell with shock oil?

The O-rings sold with Schumacher kits are usually bad, but I can't give you an answer for the ultra short kit.
I've tried TRF o-rings, it was better but the shocks still leaked, and I now use MuchMore Flex 40° o-rings, they are perfect smooth operation and absolutely 0 leak. I always use the shims provided with the shocks, and I put o-ring grease as well.

They are larger than the standard shocks.

The ultra short shocks still leak and i have had issues with them sucking in air through the bladder, to solve this i used a .03 diff shim between the shock collar and top cap to create a tighter seal on the bladder to shock body. Hope this helps anyone else having the same issue.

just so so I am clear is this at the bottom of the shock body and the .03 is in addition to the 2 shims in the instructions?

No at the top between the shock top cap and threaded collar. I used diff bearing shims to compress the bladder to the shock body and create a tighter seal.

Thanks that makes sense. I will give them a run out Sunday if it isn’t raining then see if air is getting in.
