The grip is great but tire wear is astronomically high. I can't afford to keep tires on my cars when I am going through a set every 1-2 runs. With 2wd buggy it just eats the rears, but I also run ebuggy and a full set of four 8th scale tires, foams and rims is expensive.

I ran on a sugared track this past weekend. Tire wear started off as almost none, but as the groove formed and grip went up the tire wear went through the roof.

We have a sugared out door track here in Sydney. I personal don't like it when it's sugared that morning, but it's great if its sugared 1-2 days before race day. Just feels more natural but still super grip.

In winter it's really hard on tires 1-2 runs etc. In summer the tires still wear in 1-2 runs but the performance doesn't drop off that noticeable so we all end up running slicks. The sugar also helps hold the track together during bad weather witch is important for an out door track.

Has anyone run the new orion vst2 yet?

How would you compare it to vst1 and lrp x12 in 7.5-8.5 winds?

No sugar needed its a true blue groove track. The pits where 106 degrees and the track is already starting to groove up really good, everyone is switching over to mm cars. One more day of practice before racing on Friday and it should be very fast with very high traction. Tire wear is pretty high.

Go on jp's Facebook for videos..

I prefer tracks like that over ones that have been enhanced using additives such as sugar.

If kept damp,a track like that will eat tires slower but in that heat that is not an option.

Bump for a great buggy is like-new shape.

I'm curious, what's the logic for switching to the Rb5 front a-arms?

You get the RB-5 arms for free when you buy the UM521-1 arms. For some reason kochi doesn't sell arms in sets, they sell them one front and rear per pack

I understand that at Pre-Worlds, the drivers had zero traction and it was bad but I blame that on A-Main for not watering the track properly leading up. Loose dirt is Off-Road and I hope we don't quickly turn this sport into On-Road with jumps.
All the 3 local tracks I race on is sugar or glued and loved it, we all run bald or slicks tires.... Coming from on-road the more traction the better..

O-ring might be bad.. Or if you tighten the top cap too much the o-ring tends to pop out the groove from the top cap...

Check if the O-ring is seated properly. Use a little green slime.

Normally on the rb5 I can damage the front alum shock cap but on the rb6 they're behind the towers.
