They seem like odd tamiya part numbers, even if it was 55845, that seems odd to be a 55 number, shuld be a 53 number?

Does anyone know if the you order the bulkheads, do you get both end or just one?

if its just one, if I purcahse one for the front, are they identical to the orginal ones, just a one piece design VS the 3 piece?

recently, my evo4 has developed a very bad habit..... spur stripping!!!!!

it strips every single spur i replaced after a crash (be it minor or major crash) within a battery pack (every pack = 1 spur!!!)

I'm not sure is it because of tight centre shaft or bent shaft of is it motor not properly / tighly mounted.

Any1 has any solution?

This is the same problem as the old bevel/one-way gear problem. Essentially the weakest link in the system will give to the force of the impact. It used to be the one-way gear, then Tamiya fixed it with a back plate in the Surikarn edition, and the bevel gear became the problem. With proper shimming, Evo4 bevel gears no longer strips like the Evo3 SL (not as much anyway) so now the force goes to the next gear in the system, which is the spur gear.

Did you have the same kind of crash and did you break anything?

I have the same problem with the Evo3 SL and Evo4 and since it's so much work to replace the spur gear I ended up running the 415 most of the time.

sometimes, it's a minor crash.

and because of this, i'm going back with my 415.

You are either setting your mesh too tight, or too loose, or not tightening the motor screws enough, or you have debris or something wrong with the pinion teeth. I run mod (up to 8x1) and have only stripped one spur gear ever and I have run a bunch. The one spur gear I stripped was when another driver drilled me at the end of the straight.

Jeff, I have run a oneways, diffs, and a spool and have gone as far as to bend the big thick driveshafts and no problems with the spur. I have to believe the problem is elsewhere.

BTW, I have only had one crown gear go out too and that was my fault for not using Loctite on the screw. IMO this car is one of the toughest cars I have seen!!!

I believe the yellow springs are about 13.5 lb. This is an average rating as every batch, and spring, is slightly different.
