I've used a 79t before and it's pretty close to the limit. I know a few guys say you can go up to 81t but it must be really close to the rear top plate and the ground!

I know RC Market has them, and Hot Bodies USA will have the full hara spring range in stock again very soon from what I understand.

Thanks IL and Itchy. So i will buy a 80t spur gear to have some free space beetwen the spur and the rear top plate and beetwen the spur and the ground.

81T is fine, it is the maximum suggested 48 pitch spur.

You can actually use an 82T but it sticks out slightly and can rub on the middle plate. The best thing about the 81T is that for most rubber tyres the rollout is the pinion you use so you dont need to carry a rollout chart :P

For your additional information,
the Hara springs are all progressive rate and those HPI springs listed are linear. You can't compare with them by only the number.

Thanks,

Default Help After Cyclone Tc first run today

Hi Guys got a few questions regarding TC after first run today.

1 the shocks leak after 2 runs they lost all rebound and shaft was covered with oil car bottoms out.

2 the screws in the chassis keep coming loose they came out and the blocks moved and hinge pins fell out.

3 after setting up according to book i have more steering to the right and very twitchy.

4 plenty of steering going into corners but lack of steering mid and exit of corner.

5 Pro diff very smooth for first run but very gritty after that.

Any help on any of these would be appreciated as this is the first time I have run a cyclone.

Use some blue loctite on the hinge pin holders...check them before or after every race to make sure they are tight

Have you had your car on a setup board yet? The steering being twitchy sounds like its all in the setup of the car between your ackerman setting, Caster, and toe settings. Also it sounds like your radio also needs to be setup per the car.
