Ok guys I have few questions. First off I have been doing rc cars for approximately 20 years now. I mainly race oval and touring. I have always been a fan of IRL and F1. I am wanting to build a car. What kit do you recommend?

Thanks for all the help and keep the pics coming on this awesome thread!

I have an HPI Super F1, but you can't find them anymore

the current kits that are hot are:

Tech Racing F125BR(or TY) <--decent price, unknown handling/performance, 2009 body styles

Tamiya F104Pro <-- decent price, Tamiya Quality, beautiful 2008 bodywork, unknown handling due to battery position change

TRG F108/09 <-- expensive ($300+), awesome-looking chassis, needs body work

Corally F1 NGX<-- pricey ($300), nice chassis, esablished handling, non-scale front end (12th scale parts)

Then there's the HPI Formula10 but it's more of an introductory car, until they come out with a PRO version

I would recommend a Tamiya F103... it's been around in one form or other for some time now... very competitive... plenty of parts available... tons of hop ups available, mostly over seas though... it's tough, simple and works...

true... there is always the F103

as far as the Cross car is concerned... what's parts availability like in the 'States?

the cars I mentioned are really new so parts are/should be readily available to those people who wish to race F1 in the US

More on the Tamiya F103

Tamiya F103RM (includes body-perfect to start)

Tamiya F103R (15th Anniversary edition-carbon frame) more expensive but comes with all the advance parts. You will end up spending a lot more geting them on your own.

Were to buy?

I will pick the F103R From e-bay

The F103RM is scarce. The last time I saw they had bouth kits at:
http://www.rcplanet.com/SearchResult...x=0&Search.y=0
A bit pricey but in stock.

Cheers!

Jenson's / Brawn-Mercedes unstoppable at 6... Is Silverstone 7?

I'm a bit confused... the F104 is slated for release June 28th in Japan?

I LOVE these cars... I was at the show and it was my first time experiencing it live... they are soooooo cool... The speed and movement of 5th scales are so real... The Ferrari was extremely realistic...

I picked up a bone stock F103. What hop ups if any should I pick up since I will be racing it?
