What FDR are some people using on their 008 with a 27 turn motor. I just looked at the gear charts and I need to be a 6.0 to 6.5 FDR for our track. I've changed to an RW116 64p spur and it looks like I may have to get a smaller spur or use the 48p 84tooth that the car came with. Let me know what you are running.

I know this is the 008 forum, but I had to post this on here. XRAy quality is second to none and there cars are top of the line. I was racing yesterday with my FK05 and out qualified a whole list of RDX's, 007's, PHI's a TA05R and a Cyclone. There was thirity cars in my class 4 of the guys have a sponser, I was TQ by 1.5 sec and won the main by over a lap with a car that is at least 3 years old.
I hope I have not put a dent in Xray sales by showing some of the guys here that the older cars still can bring plenty of comp to the table and then some.

The second bigger issue, is you implying just because you beat some club guys with a FK05 that the cars you mentioned are in any way inferior. All that that proves is that you are better then them with your 05 then they are with their cars on that "GIVEN" day. Nothing more than that.
Keep practicing hard and maybe some day you actually will get that real sponsorship.

There is nothing wrong with any of the cars on the market today, and I was not implying that the cars I mentioned were in any way inferior, to the FK05.There is 4 guys at my local track that are sponsered one of them with XRAY, when that post was made it was to only show that older cars can still get the job done.

It was not to hard or harsh, but you may want to check the date when I made that post, I also think that in my Sig it says Team Driver for Serpent -USA ( 2008 ) and I think that post was made on the 30th of December. You missed the key part (2008), and yes as of Janurary 3rd 2008 Serpent is my sponser. I will have my car and parts on Friday .

Do many people have problems with stripping the belt in modified? When i run on tight tracks, with spool (rubber tires) in carpet, then the belt lasts about 4runs.. max..
I am now going to convert it to bigger layshaftpully's and other belts (Mi3 front and Yokomo rear).
Did more people have that problem? And if yes, what did you do about it.
The car preforms awsome by the way, its super fast and so easy to drive even in modified. I really like it apart from the few small problems. If thats solved, the car wil be the best I have owned so far.

I've noticed the 008 seems to have a bit more drag, so i plan on trying using the old 20t layshaftpully and other belts, although im not sure wich ones.
