You have to first HAVE a zip program. Go to download.com and get winzip or winrar.

Vista "How to video": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTp3tUL9u8Y

Winrar download: http://winrar.ed0wnloads.com/

You will need an unzipping tool, vista does not come with one.

Seems kinda odd that XP will open zip files directly and Vista won't... I wonder why Microsoft took that functionality out of the newer system...

Default Zipped,TXT, Vista, XP? its all good amongest friends!

This Tekin 194 update sounds all too familiar to me. I have an HP laptop w/Windows XP, and slow/old dialup modem ISP. When I recieved 194 in Zipped form, my conputer could not deal with it. Contacting Randy did not solve the problem, However, what did wind up working was, another Tekin user locally, was able to email the program to me in TXT form. It responded instantly, Problem solved.

This is now one of the many reasons I send it out in a .txt format to begin with.

STLNLST, I think I need to look for a new ride so to speak. I ended the day on the last run with a broken caster block. I need to get a few parts like a spool and some spares if I'm going to move forward with the car.

I did get it to spool out to 36 mph by the end of the day so the car was starting to free up!

Vista should open zip files just like XP did. I have had no problems with Vista Ultimate opening zip files,

Opps! I actually mistated everything backwards, (except the part about contacting Randy). This actually drove me crazy for a couple of days. Randy did send 194 TXT, and my friend sent it "Zipped", which did make it through to my inbox OK.

Sorry for the confusion, that is "I was confused", at any rate I was able to successfully update to 194, not sure why XP could not deal with converting from TXT to Zipped...Oh well.......

That is what I thought... when I upgraded my friend's Compaq laptop (Vista on it) the zip file just opened, no zip utility necessary, same as XP... I wonder why so many people here are saying that Vista won't open a zip file...

Did a quick Google search just to confirm... Yes, Vista DOES have built-in zip/unzip functionality, just like XP. No need for any third-party zip tool.
(uhhh, huh, huh, he said "tool"...)

Randy

Today I ran into a problem with the RS ESC I wired it up for a brushed stock motor as per instructions and I set the ESC to forward with brake only. it ran fine for 2mins then it stopped I looked at the esc and leds 1&2 and 6&7 were flashing. when I hooked it up to the hot wire it showed I was still on brushed fwd only. any ideas?

i see you have a 10v cap. Should that not be 16v? I have no idea but the standard cap was 16v330. I installed a 16v2200 cap after mine exploded with a 4.5t brushless
