I have an old CRC GEN X 10. Anybody tested new SE in a outdoor track (asphalt)?

I can use the same 235mm Expansion Kit?

thanks and regards

Tyo,

I have the new SE for carpet; but, am keeping my wider LE chassis for asphalt. Both of my cars are single cell setups per ROAR rules in USA.

Send an e-mail to John at CRC to check into the 235mm Expansion Kit fitment. He is at: [email protected]

What battery pack (1S/2S) would you be using for the 235mm car? John will need to know that.

Cheers!

Bill

FYI...You live in a beautiful city...Barcelona!

Hey Josh,

I am probably headed to the new indoor asphalt track in Antioch. Nor-Cal's asphalt has too much dust for my liking. I appreciate something more predictable. Have pretty good reports about Antioch so far.

And I can always build you a GOOD WGT car...LOL Unfortunately, you moved onto other classes just when you started to give me a good run for the money in WGT. Would be fun!

Cheers!

Thank you again for your answer. Do you think SE chasis is designed for carpet? Then i will buy LE version.

Both of my cars are single cell setups per ROAR rules in USA.

Did it. We use between 5.5 to 7.5 motor with battery pack 2S and we want to test 3.5 motor with battery pack 1S (free rules)

Thank you. But you in a incredible CA!

Yes, after my testing on asphalt today with the LE, I plan to continue with the LE version for asphalt and the SE for carpet.

I see the advantage of the LE on asphalt because electronics can be placed to each side for weight transfer on lesser traction surfaces. Plus, the battery pack can also be placed sideways in the LE chassis.

The SE version pretty much dictates everything down the center.

And I continually think about the excellent tapas bars along La Rambla in Barcelona. Have never found anything close to that experience in all of the US.

Cheers!

To me, the posted setups are for specific track conditions (often with exceptional traction) which may not work that well for your situation.

My best advice would be to call CRC and ask to speak with Dumper (Brian Wynn) about his recent take on what will work for your carpet track conditions. When he has time, I always seem to get about 3 months of accumulated knowledge during a 15 minute conversation. That's Dumper's Speed Shop!

And, I also have to give a huge nod to John Firsching at CRC. John handles both customer service and sales. When it comes to parts, John is da man in Rome (NY)! But, I do also remember using a John-posted pan car setup that helped me be more consistent in my driving.

I would also suggest that mid-week is possibly a good time to contact them. My thinking is that Mondays and Fridays would likely be their busier days of the week. Aren't those actually travel days to/from distant races? Only Frank C. knows...LOL

Hope this helps.

Are you currently on the LE? What traction level are you running on?

Here's what I would suggest for the LE. This always worked well for me everywhere:

Front:
.50 1/12 front springs and king pins .5mm droop
Trailing axle
4.5mm ride height
1* camber
-1* toe out
52.5mm CRC tires, half sauce
5* blocks with 2 shims forward
Wide front plate
Arms forward

Rear:
CRC red center spring
Red side springs just touching and tweaked
30k in the tubes
4.5mm ride height
52.5mm CRC tires and full sauce
1mm pod droop
200mm rear
Sophia body

Spending the next 2 weekends tweaking on the SE a little more....will post findings.....
