Gotta love it when every week novice guys are out on the track texting when they are supposed to be marshaling and the race director refuses to say anything even when guys are yelling MARSHALL for 15 seconds from the stand.

Thumbs up Cactus Classic Track Re-Build Sat. 3/10 & Sun. 3/11

Guys-

If you weren't out this past weekend for the Cactus Classic Warm-Up Race, the track rebuild for Cactus is going on this weekend (3/10-3/11). This means that normal Saturday racing has been moved to Friday night @ 7PM. SRS will be running On-Road & Off-Road together this Friday. Please call the shop at (480) 945-2186 with any questions.

I'm sure Humpty and the SRS crew will need plenty of volunteers to assist in the track rebuild!

Nope, never said it was. Wasn't even blaming the marshalls. Novice guys dont know the rules for marshalling if the RD refuses to tell them.

You know, kinda like how your home track (and most other local tracks) has a drivers meeting before every race and the RD says; "Please no eating on the track, no phones, just watch your area." That's really all it takes and it's not asking alot.

G'day y'all,

Just a quick question?

Or maybe it's more my curiosity getting the best of me, as I look at the cactus entries every few days to see how they are coming along (nicely) , I see a few names re appearing in multiple classes?

IE: can you cross enter between motor classes? Example, enter in 13.5 2wd buggy and also enter mod 4wd and 17.5t racing truck?

I only ask because here in AUS, you may only cross enter if your chosen motor class isnt available in your class, ( like your 17.5t class) which is only available in 2wd and truck? Witch forces you to run 13.5t in 4wd.

Am I right , or is there some people hedging their bets with entries.

Doesn't bother me either way, just curious.

Cheers

Btw can't wait, I almost have everything ready to go, I just need to break in my new cars this weekend then clean and pack it all away.

Yes you can cross enter.. The only thing not allowed is if you are running any mod class you cant run a 17.5 stock class... You can run mod and 13.5.or 13.5 and 17.5... But not 17.5 and Mod anything. If your good enough to run mod Buggy Truck Or Shortcourse or 4 wheel Buggy. You shouldnt want to run 17.5..

So, I heard a rumor that Scotty is planning on doing controlled practice on Wednesday and Thursday, and we would only run twice per class on each day. Any truth to this? Because according to the flyer and the schedule posted above it is just going to be controlled practice on Thursday and, I'm guessing, in a similar format to years past where we would run for 4-5 minutes at a time and just form a line at the drivers stand. Seems to work out great, you run as much as you want, you just have to wait your turn.

Personally I think it is nice to run in heats/by class. Then you don't have to spend most of the day waiting in line. I burn easy...

True, but you only get to run twice. Last year I arrived on Wednesday and ran multiple times, only waiting about 10-15 minutes max. Thursday was quite a bit busier, only ran 2-3 times and avg wait was about 30 mins. Plus, there is no way its going to be as busy this year compared to last.
