Yokomo MR-4TC SD

Hey Randman, how does the black version come out stiffer than the SSG? Is it because of a slightly thicker chassis? What's the difference?

Hi guys. Greetings from Malta.
Took the SD in endurance trim down to the track yesterday, as well as son Josh's TC3.
Within 5 minutes I had 2 broken cars to repair. Josh caught a board and ripped off a rear suspension on the TC3 - broken wishbone, hingepin, shock cap. Tommy broke my first drive shaft on the SD. I had a spare and it was back on track in 10 minutes.
Both these guys are used to mod and make more mistakes with a slow car for they tend to slow down earlier. So Josh did a whole season of mod racing. TQ'd every one of 15 rounds, won every one and made fastest lap every time. And he didn't break a thing all season. Put him in a slow car with stock motor and he breaks it in a couple of minutes. There must be a moral to that story somewhere!
In the last 2 evenings that SD has run for almost 2 hours. Yesterday along we ran non stop for 40 minutes. With present gearing we can stay with the quickest cars but they get 9 minutes out of a pack of 3000s and we are getting almost 12. So I'll be upping the gearing a bit for this evening.
I received more SD spares yesterday, including the fancy Yokomo carbon main shaft. Smart, isn't it!
Regards
Joe from sunny Malta.

Have you found a magnet manufacturer that will sell you bulk ?
dang, 12mn on a mod under Sunny Malta Weather... I can't imagine what 2 hours will be... I guess as a shopowner you get your motors cheaper than anybody else, but still... sizzling hot...

24h endurance race
hmmm.... 2 hours is not bad, but If you really want to kill your motors, batteries, car, etc.. race 24h. Havenīt done it yet, because I didnīt want to ruin my car....but that is a thing you definitely should do if you get the chance.

I know he isn't saying the tc3 is a slow car, I'm just giving him some hell on how he worded it. I know the point of his story was that when one goes back to stock racing from racing only modified that you make alot of mistakes in the beginning and that the car is slower. Now if you read the sentnce again-
"Put him in a slow car with stock motor and he breaks it in a couple of minutes."
See......but I know he means "Put him in a CAR with a stock motor and he breaks it in a couple of minutes." That it what he means.
Not trying to stir up anything here and again I know what he means.
