All the testing that the team and myself have done have come to those conclusions and statements.
Motor timing is right now and all the time, once set it cannot be adjusted.
Timing boost is the midrange and comes in after a few feet, this is your midrange timing setup.
Turbo is the top end. This comes on hard as the car is spooling out and torque is no longer a viable means to continue acceleration.
The gearing to take advantage of this setup has shown to drop down to lower setups. As an example. The Reedy Race. Drivers were running 198 software and FDR'd at 5.1 to 5.2. 199 Software with turbo and we ended up in the 5.6 to 5.7 range with the same motor temps but faster over all runs, faster straight speeds, and a more punchier/faster infield.
So overall the software provides the best of both worlds essentially. Now there is no compromise so to speak. There is generally a give and take but this software is a step in the direction to make it a "take and take" situation!

Just wanted to post a quick note about my first run with 17.5
It's a lot quicker than I thought
I was up against other cars with 10.5 motor in them on our indoor track.
I tried boost at 30 with full retarded timing, full advanced, then in the middle. Car felt a LOT quicker with full advance, but came off at 80 degrees, so I backed it down to 12 degrees for the third run and it came off at 60 degrees.
I was geared at 5.7 or there abouts (60ft straight, technical track) so I may be able to gear differently and see how that works out.
My time with the 17.5 was a bit off the pace of my 10.5 car (4 laps down)but the car it was in is my wet car and isn't set up properly for carpet racing. I think with some tweaks to gearing/timing combo and also having a car that's set up properly I'd be able to get another 2/3 laps out of it.
Overall, VERY impressed so far.

Just came back from Speedworld and from what I understand a few SPX users were a little bitter about the new RS software and walked off the drivers stand...ouch.
So far the team is happy with it's results. The public version isn't far off.

It was noticable in 17.5 as well. Man the Speedworld cup is gonna be fun. My boy had to go gear his spx up after I came on to the straight Spedworld's straight is 160ft and the car was still accellerating at the end of the sweeper. Car set up is also key. I have been fighting a slight push while Mo was rocking and carving the corners. The line he took coming on to the straight was lights out unless you were also running a RS

hi guys im have troubles getting brakes from my rs pro i have a 4pk any 1 with any ideas with the stock motor brakes are enough but with 10.5 there bad.

With the spec motors I always run sensored mode (has more brakes for me).
If you play with the brakes a lot set the max brake on the speedo to 100% and adjust back with the radio if you have too much.
I've also found that the RS has enough brake to lock up the tires on low/medium bite tracks. Makes it feel like you don't have enough brakes. Stops fine once you turn them down.

Like Fred said I too find I get more brakes in Sensored mode. Also check to make sure you didn't have ABS activated on the radio when you calibrated the ESC and if you have a Hotwire get some newer software loaded on the ESC. I found that the later versions also have more brakes.

I can't wait. Here we have bigger tracks and our small tracks are your big tracks.
So here we need the Turbo here on the outdoor tracks.
Drove today with my Tekin RS Pro and Tekin Redline 10,5T.
My FDR was 5,15 with max boost and 2 or 3 on the motor.
Hath enough power but the Tekin Redline motor with the SPX was on 6,2 FDR and was flying.
The fastest on the track.
I needed that low FDR to get some speed.
Acceleration was good but couldn't keep up with the SPX Tekin combo.
And that was on a small track four us.
I can tell you that there was no faster combo on the track. The Tekin motor was by far the fastest motor and as the Turbo is working as you all are telling than it will be the fastest combo there is.
I want the Turbo and i want it fast. I need power!!
So Randy finish the public version fast please.

ok, tryin to figure out a ballpark gear for my 008 mated to a 17.5 duo and a RS. havent been up to the local track recently and even in talkin to folks for a baseline, i'm gettin a lot of different answers. some even referencing the wide gap is because of the speedo and its abilities. right bout a 100' stretch and the rest is carpet-esque 'twisties' on asphalt. right now a 104/42 (4.2:1) ratio sits in there. purely b/c its what i had to outfit the car having bought that ratio for VTA (another class option). can i find out if i'm in the ballpark and if not what needs to happen pinion and/or prgm'g wise to get me to close enuff to test on track and pinpoint. easy on me, never done brushless touring. brushless offroad, the tekin allows you to 'miss' the ideal FDR, but i know that tolerance is tighter for onroad. thx
btw, the 2 RSs i have here are v1.89 (b4 and 008), i will be orderin a 3rd here in next 2wks for the 12r5 (which i'm told should use v1.94??)
