Bam!

This thing has laid down the BAM factor. I'm in Japan right now for the Tamiya World Championships and I came across this from one of the racers. Its ALL hand painted using masking tape cut from a computer. It took the guy two days to paint. There is not one sticker on this body. Holy WOW!

Very impressive, I would like to know what material he is cutting for the masks, because the real small stuff is hard to cut cleanly. I believe there actually are a few stickers on the body, the seatbelt detail and the Rauch logos on the mirrors. Very impressive nonetheless

HOLLY CRAP!

That's is some REALLY NICE work. I wish I had the talent, resources, and time to attempt that...oh ya and some decent eye balls.

How goes it with Mr. Wu. Is he layin down some smack from the USA?

That's some great work...he's got to have a hell of a cutter to get detail that small. Mine wouldn't even come close to that.

Nice paint! Curious as to how they, and others have been getting the color-change from the blue to purple. I've tried candy purple backed with met-blue and it seems to work ok. Always looking for better.

Nice paint job. Red Bull drink in America taste weak. You need to go to the source to get the real stuff! Thailand~!

Faskolor has a pearl purple that works perfect for the RB fade. Spray it to the correct shade then back with the Blue

Sean is currently sitting 3rd. Best he can do is 2nd if the last qualifier goes super well. We've been developing his car all week. It just get better each run. Unfortunately, his gyro stopped working in Q3, but we figured out why. Q4 will be super dialed.

Raised the stakes ? That guy took it to another planet ! I tip my hat to his painting talents.

Glad to hear you have been able to help Sean get his F1 dialed in. Did he go with the TRF101 or the F104W GP with 180mm front end ? Sounds like all the USA team is doing well in qualifying.

We missed you at UF1 today but you had a good reason to miss.

I finished my take on the Jordan 191 last night. It's not up to the standards of the hand painted Red Bull, but I think it turned out pretty good. I painted and clear coated the wings, but I'm sure they'll still get destroyed the first time I clip a pipe.

I was never a big Schumacher fan, so Kimi got the nod for the Jordan drive.

Alright, so here is my F1 interpretation, running on top of the phenomenal Speed Passion SP-1 chassis. It pales in comparison to the paint jobs you've all posted here, but it's visible on the the track and different from all the Ferraris and Hondas

Also, that's not The Stig, but it is The Stig's 1/10th scale cousin

Anyway, comments welcome.

I noticed that you referred to his "gyro stopped working". I've noticed that there has been some talk concerning gyros in rc car racing. Would someone please explain that to me. I thought they were only for drift cars, but apparently they are used in racing too. Are they worth getting? My group races F1 cars on less than perfect parking lot tracks where traction is difficult to come by...would a gyro help? If so, what brand to buy and how much are they?
