TA05-R gearing
Thanks for fast reply.
If I use 48pitch 105T spur gear instead of 04mod tamiya 105T spur gear, is the gearing ratio same ?
What is the best gear ratio for novak 5.5T brushless motor for TA05-R ?
The manual says 8.75-9.25, but I think it's little bit high.
Is there anyone who use TA05-R with novak 5.5 motor ?
I'm new to electric onroad, I have a lot of questions.
Please advise.

My track doesn't seem to have any ruling on this...
What should I look out for to determine if I should cut it down or mount it forward as there are 2 possible positions from the indents on the wing.
If I'm having too much rear grip, understeering, do I move the wing forward or cut the wing? Now I have the largest possible size and the rearward mounting position.
Thanks!

If you dont run rules at your club like that, then consider doing it according to the governing body that would normally govern major races in your area, that way if you decide to race in an event your body shell is legal.
With regards to moving the wing... mounted more towards the rear increases rear traction, more towards the front decreases rear traction but increases the manouverability of the car (by essentially increasing traction on the front wheels, hence more grip and steering). If the wing is the only thing you want to change and you have too much rear grip I'd move it forward.

The gear ratio for your motor in the manual would normally be a recommended "safe" range of ratios. You can gear lower, but I'd be making sure your motor doesnt get too hot. Also, guys running 5.5T at one of the local tracks here would be running in the 11s for FDR, because its a short indoor carpet track with not much room to leg it out down the straight so its important to remember that gearing is often track specific.. ask the guys you race with for recommendations for your track.

Because if you're not aware of how powerful a 4.5T can be then I would say you're probably not ready for it... I say this because I see a lot of people who normally race in stock classes try out low wind modified class motors and quickly switch back!
The other thing to consider would be additional costs associated with the increased wear on your car due to increased power levels etc. Tyres dont last as long, belts strip teeth, centre and diff pulleys wear, lower arms and damper stays more likely to break upon impact as you're gonna be hitting things harder and faster etc.
That being said, get yourself a 4.5T and some aluminium diff cups and make sure your belts arent under tensioned and see if you like it. And maybe go out into an open parking lot where its safer to do a few test runs to get used to the power level.
