my clutch bell has very little free play. i haven't tried to measure it though. lol. I would say it's about what you have between the gears when you've got a good mesh.

The rear pulley is fixed to the diff case with 2.6x8 mm countersunk screws, find some 3x8 countersunk screws as the rear diff has a habbit of leaking out the oil.
I've just built my second V1 after a short stint with a NTC3.
Oh, you will need more clutch shims than are supplied in the kit if you want to play with clutch shimming.
here is a few the most important tips.

besides, the 2 speed shaft is a bit too fit. make sure the bearing is all the way goes into the left side bulk head or your 2speed will be blinding. make sure you have the right screw size for your left brace on the bulkhead or the longer screw will force out the bearing and resulting in blinding 2speed again.

Manticore - how is the S5 compared to the RB 5 port? Have you ran it against collaris?

S5 has better mid range and top end and most suitable for bigger and high speed track.
RB 5 port has better bottom and mid range.

we dont have any good collari here.

going to get the pixy pretty soon with its pipe. going to rock.

thanks for the input manticore. Let us know how the rossi runs. I was going to buy an S5 but if you say the RB 5 port is stronger off the bottom then I'll just pass and see what the rossi holds. The trinity guys are saying it's awesome - but what do you expect them to say. I've got a RB 5 port, it's strong - but IMO the collari 5-port is better off the bottom - when tuned right it's the fastest .12 engine I've run thus far.

people are reporting quality issue on collari engines so I decide to keep my hands off from it.
