One of my buddies used his this weekend. Nice device. It was actually really great to use it in the volt meter mode while he charged his packs.

It would be nice if it could have a switch so that it would work with 4-cell packs. My buddy ended up just sticking two dummy cells in with jumpers to make it seem like it was a 6-cell pack.

What is the advantage of having the current of all cells taken down to zero at the cutoff voltage? In other words, why and how does it benefit you?

I am deciding between the team wave tray and the tekin tray and I am wondering if the following statement is correct. The tekin tray and the team wave tray hold the cell at the cutoff voltage. The tekin does this by shutting off and turning back on when the cells voltage regenerates, and the team wave tray does this by lowering the discharge rate of each cell independently to stay at cutoff voltage, and continue discharging until the current has reached zero at the cutoff voltage. I dont have a great understanding of current so feel free to correct me, but I think the tekin tray will also take the current down to zero after it has taken the cell down again after it regenerates a number of times. I think that the team wave tray will probably take the cells' current to zero much faster though because it doesnt wait for the voltage to regenerate. The team wave says that it has completed equalization once the current of all cells has reached zero, and my guess is that the tekin tells you its done once all cells reach .5 volts, and the cells probably wont reach zero current unless you leave them on the tray for an extended period of time.

Few points here, the Tekin tray won't take the pack down to "0" I don't know who started this rumor but it doesn't,it takes the pack down to .07(voltage needed to maintain lights) (lights are out) then down to .05 and shuts off.As far as the 5 amp discharge,a low currrent discharge is what you want for EQ'ing, which is why the Tekin is a 2 amp discharge.Remember HEAT is the enemy.I wouldn't even call this a discharger, it's a EQ'er and from the looks of it a pretty nice one it's really what I think you would want, especially with the volt meter on each cell, that's really trick,I would consider this device if I hadn't just purchased a Tekin tray, and from the sounds of it it doesn't work on 4 cells.

Now I am having a problem, I put a pack in and it seems to be making contact all round but I am only getting any readings on cell 1 and 3. I have tried numerous packs to no avail any ideas?

Ok that happened and I wrote them.

Here is what you are doing incorrectly...You are going to laugh...
Turn the pack around.
make sure the - connection of the pack is facing down on the left hand side, and the + connection both where you attach your battery to the ESC both facing down.
That should solve the problem...I laughed when they told me that too...LOL..

They raised the price by $18.00 (including shipping) over night if you want to order from them. They expect people's LHS's to stock them, that's pretty unrealistic since they're not going to order something from hong kong that they've never heard of. Hopefully some online stores start selling it, although they don't make it sound like that will happen.
