There detail is very good on the motor vent area and countersinking. You can also check with Steve @ Speedtech. I know he is constant communication with Penguin and will carry the product as soon as it is packaged.

Hi:
I'm still working on my "lower the topdeck" project and can someone with the penguim chassis "scan" it and send me via email an image of it? I'm thinking on doing something myself, with some inprovements, and this one seems the best so far...

thanks,
al

Um guessing there is some copyright issues with that. Probably not a good idea.

Maybe there is, but for testing it purely for yourself and not selling it on, I doubt that would be a problem

If it was being sold on, then yes I wouldnt call that as a wise move...

All you would have to do, is change the outline or move a hole, or both, copyright issue gone. When it comes down to it, you could say Tamiya have a copyright issue, but they know it is good for them for people to make these chassis kits.

that's why I kindly ask "send by email"..... I just want to use it as a base for something I have in mind... and only for one topdeck (mine)... carbon fiber is expensive, so I don't want to screw it up, thus using this as a reference... anyway, if someone feel this could break the law, just don't do it.... and if this project does not workout as intended, I might end up buying the topdeck anyway....

the thing is I'm a little dissapointed on the xenon topdeck because it keep the stiffners on; and I need to save weight if I want to be competitive on 5 cell with brushless and 1350gr.... I'm far from the minimum weight and I need to lower it at least close to 1400-1420 gr... and I already have titanium and aluminium screws, motor mount and turnbuckles... and I don't want to go with the lightweight suspension yet.

thanks again,
al

Maybe contact Brion Sohn at Penguin and give him your ideas and maybe he could mill it for you. Unless you were planning to do it yourself. You might be able to work something out with him where he will give you the CAD. Dunno, he seems like a nice guy.

Dumb Question...

Are the diff balls used on the wide pulleys supposed to be the same or smaller then the stock?

they're a little hard to get in, however once in its position, they can roll easily... I use the other diff plate to press them into the holes with diff grease.... after a run, they're quite smooth....

Has anyone encountered the links above? TA05-R cars for 17850 and 17250 japanese dollars! Thats about 140 and 145 bucks US dollars. Anyone know japanese and or has ordered from these companies? The cheaper company even offers options for combos with hopups and it's ALL like 1/2 price of buying it here!

Finally figured out why my car was spinning out only on left turns, and also pulling left when I punch the throttle (on page 221).

Apparently one of the rear diff halves were starting to heat up and deform until it finally melted itself to the diff gear... then the outdrive blew appart haha. Same thing happened to my friends 05 two days later.

I switched to a spool up front and swapped my front diff for the melted rear one. Runs great now.

That goes to the first link I put up. And it works out to like 140USD. Thats freakin cheap! Available in late march-ish? BTW, you've ordered from them before and they are pleasant to deal with?
