i have a question, how can i put a normal hollow antenna on, instead of the hard one, which i wrap the antenna around? Is it possible, or would it not work?

You want the hard antenna mast to prevent roll overs.

You can but I would reccomend against it. The fiberglass antenna is called a "roll over antenna" for a reason. When your car flips over the roll over antenna often times will flip it back on to it's wheels. Without it you will have to wait for a turn marshall to get your car every time you crash. Not to mention 1/12ths slide really really really far on their lid when there is no roll over antenna.

a small piece of velcro will keep 1:12's from sliding as far on their lids

Kidding, you need a roll over antenna. The Antenna's could be more flexible like on "Ugly Stick" fishing rods but the hard antennas work too.

oh, okay, so i guess ill be sticking with the fiberglass ones. I find all rc'ers very influential, lol. How much can i cut it with it still working? if not, ill leave it the same lenth, how do you guys wrap the antenna, evenly, or most at the bottom, and then a single strand going up to the top?

The fibre glass antenna can be good and bad... I've seen turn marshalls pick a car up by it and the antenna and receiver wire both came off the car...

Not really, they see it holding up the car so they think its firmly attached...

That's why I was so happy Spektrum came out No longer does my reciever wire run up the roll over antenna. It stays under the body.

can the antenna be under the body for indoor? like a really small antenna? i have having to work with a car with a huge antenna, it bothers me, and can poke an eye out or something!

Its a good idea to put a peice of shrink wrap around the roll over mast where the mast comes out through the bodyshell. I've seen a couple of areial wires cut in two when someone crashed and the body deformed around that hole and cut the wire!

does it have to come out of the body? usually i like to run like 3-4 inch antennas, so the chassis is easy to work on, without removing it.
