@rccartips....If you use other foams then Tamiya, try if you can get your hands on, GP-speedtires.
Our track is from time to time also dusty and then i use the above tires in combo 25sh rear and 40sh front or 30sh rear and 42sh front.
You can get them on wheels and trued also.
They have good grip and last also
I have been running 5 race days with them and only used 2 sets in all races.
That is 3 qualifiers and 2 finales a day and that was after i trued them down to 58MM(new is 62MM)
Small impression of our track https://picasaweb.google.com/tazzie0...racingMidland#

This weekend was a blast! I must admit, once I got the right tires on my F1, it really was a fun class to race.
Here's a video of the F1 A-Main at Mike's Hobby Shop on Saturday ->http://youtu.be/pvlWdFl-aJoA
Here are my pics of "Mike's Hobby Shop F1 Posse" from Saturday's Race.

By the way, did you know that Mike's Hobby Shop is going to have a F1 class at the 2012 ROAR Carpet Nationals on March 16 - 18? It's going to be AWESOME!!!

So is your rules setup then for 25.5 for foam and 21.5 for rubber to even things out some?

Our rules are 21.5 and rubber tire but we let it slide for the new guys. The corally doesn't get to race often and the f109 was a first timer. Corally has a rubber tire conversion coming out soon we are told.

I live in Jacksonville, Florida, and I'm thinking about making a trip to Dallas, Texas in March to participate in the 2012 ROAR Carpet Nationals F1 Class. I have a Tamiya F103RX that still has it's original foam tires on it. I know that ROAR is requiring rubber tires, so is there a way to put rubber tires over the existing foam tires? If so, what tire part number(s) and what web page do I need to order these tires from?

In the currently posted ROAR Rule Book (2010 ed.) the only page that talks about F1 is posted below. It mentions width limit to be 8.4 inches (which = 213.36 millimeters). It also mentions foam tires only but I believe, however, that ROAR is currently making changes to these rules. By the time the Carpet Nationals come to Dallas in March, the new rules would be in effect. Hopefully we will see the new rules with enough time in advance so we can make the appropriate changes to our cars.

I really like that Leyton House March...been thinking about finding the right rattle can colour to do one of those

The Force India looks cool too. But one of my UK racing buddies has just got one stickered up, so better leave him to that

It took Alex forever to find the paint, Tamiya paint was hard to get for awhile due to some bad labeling and Customs from what I hear. Seems to have been smoothed over recently. Thats the car that TQd and swept the A mains in our Fall Classic back in November (F104W).

I'd heard there had been issues getting Tamiya rattle can paint in the US

Seen a couple of online shops with the Leyton House stickers, and it's a nice easy scheme to get done. Tempting
