will,

i don't run the corally springs, but i had a similar experience with mine. there are a few things that you can inspect:

1) wire diameter - measure them with a caliper
2) coil number/spacing - match them up visually
3) coil ends - the beginning and end of the coil wire. match them by where the two ends line up. look down them axially, and you should see this.

the above criteria was enough to match up 9 pairs of springs that were all painted white, and then mixed up. that will match them up, and at 3lb intervals, you should then be able to determine the order they go.

Yup thats how I would do it. It's a little bit easier for the corally springs though. There are only 2 wire sizes.... the black ones are a little thinner, and the silver ones are a touch thicker. The more coils in the spring itself... the softer the spring is, fewer coils makes the spring stiffer. Counting them... just start where the wire starts and go around in 360 rotations. at the endyou might have 1/4, 1/2, or 3/4 of a rotation left. Just make those accordingly and look on the original package the spring came in. It tells you what number of coils corresponds to the spring.

You might try coloring them yourself after you get them sorted correctly with fingernail polish.

Yea I know... it's to hide secret squirell setups . You get used to them after a while. I remember one time I had a 14.5 and a 12.5 mixed up. So I had 14.5 on the front right and rear left corners of the car, and a 12.5 on the other 2 LOL.

Nice one Harbuckle..you secret squirrel you. I remember w/ the silver springs I used different colored sharpies and colored the top coil or two. That was on the old set I had.

You can also put two springs end to end and compress them against each other. The softer spring will compress fully first. Be careful though...they will shoot out across the room if you dont get it right

Thanks to L.Fairtrace for helpin me out with my spool question. Next, I wanted to ask about the shocks. Seems like the rear shocks are almost hitting the shock tower on top when I have then on the inner mount locations. I even put a small spacer in there to move it away a bit. is this normal??

Maybe someone could post a nice close up of their shock set up.... or is that too secret?

Thanks for the help!

I dont think you'll ever be in a situation where you want to use the inner most hole on the shocktower. Most setups the outer 2 holes are used.
