I agree very dumb remark.
If you can wheel you can wheel rubber or foam both require superior skill to be at the top, both in setup and in driving.

It is much harder for a foam tire racer to adapt to rubber racing than vice versa.
This is what pure foam drivers have a really hard time at Euro races, the Reedy race and Worlds.
I went to lunch with Josh Cyrul at the 2005 IFMAR Worlds and I asked him if all the foam racing he does hurts him at rubber races. He said it probably did but he has no regular place to run rubber so he has no choice but to run foams.

Hasn't Paul L. been the "King of the Hill" in vegas for the past couple years? Hasn't Mike Blackstock been spotted in the a-mains of big rubber tire events lately? I would consider those 2 guys to be FOAM racers...
This is just another silly attempt to reignite the foam versus rubber debate.
You might as well say 1/8th scale offroad drivers are even better because its "harder to control" one of those than an onroad car. Dumb remark indeed.

New subject, how about some interesting facts.
In Mod sedan 5 guys (5th thru 9th) went 31:5.03 something, 31:5.04 was 10th. And 31:5.05 was 14th.
That is crazy, I guess I have to say these guys are pretty good.

Rubber mod on any surface is harder to control than foam on carpet. Rubber mod drivers have to have a sense for how much throttle to use so they don't light up thier tires or turn the front wheels past thier optimum slip angle. Neither of those are much of an issue on foam tires.

I won't disagree on which is harder to race (I personaly only run rubber tires). Granted I think when your on the level that those mod guys are it doesn't matter to much. If it did the american guys wouldn't be in the A-main at the worlds and such. Let alone finishing in the top 5

Does somebody know how many cells the top 3 drivers run in Touring modified. 5 or 6 cells?
