Thanks in advance.

Here is a pic of my Tamiya

Nice car.

If the trans ratio is the same as the 201 I would start with 32,33/69 assuming your running blinky stock.
Any AE Spur gear will work I used Kimbrough gears when I raced blinky to get the 69T gear.

I currently only have a 79T spur. Should I start with a 22 motor pinion?

I am running 5.787 with a 69/31 in 17.5 Blinky Class. You might want to use 79/32 and temp it from there.

I don't believe that combo will give you any top end. Just FYI I run 79/23 with a 7.5 and 8.5 in mod buggy.
I suggest you should try to pick up a spur and pinion to run 17.5 with.

79/32????? I don't believe that combo is even possible without extreme motor plate work.

Thumbs up

Ran the TRF201XMW for the 1st time yesterday and WOW!! This this is bad ass!! it jumps really good I was very surprised on how well it did compared to my Centro and one other thing is that this car corners really fast and is very stable!!

The set up did not change too much from the kit setting... just used 35w front and rear with the kit springs which are Yellows rear and ??? front.... (I have to measure them to make sure)... anyways I'll try to get a set up sheet done up or scan'd and posted up... since the Set up sheet has changed a bit over the previous XM setup sheet

Exactly. As others have said, AE spur gears (B4.1) are a direct replacement. The 79 Spur is modified motor use. Get yourself a 69 or 72 spur (69 recommended) with a 32 pinion. Note anything smaller than 32 with a 69 and you probably wouldn't get a mesh. i.e. you can't move the motor any further forward to get a good gear mesh.
