I always thought it was like what rtypec said. Shocks angles mainly affect the feel of the car from what I understand, rather then altering levels of steering and stiffness. Sure it does adjust that, but its more to do with the feel of the car for your driving style.... I thought anyways.

Perhaps what they are saying with that is if the shock angle remained the same, but where the shock was located on the arm and tower was closer to the chassis. So basically like moving the shock from 4 (tower) and 2 (arm) to 3 (tower) and 4 (arm). Do you get what I mean? Maybe that is what they are talking about?

Well I feel for you two from the other side of the pond. I decided not to get the Refine2 MSX kit and stick with my std 415MSX Conv kit since I pretty much bought all the option parts needed after the std 415 kit was released in early 2004 in the US.

After buying so many spare and option parts for 415 series (the latest being the MSX Conv kit), I've decided to rebuild another 415 but w/ the std arms instead. I just needed to buy several parts for the drive train & other miscellaneous parts (spacers, shims etc.). But the most major parts I needed that cost a lot of $$ was the bottom deck & TRF blue dampers, the speedo & servo - had those already.

My only problem though would be I will have 3 TRF kits (check my sig) & can't decide which one to race. The TRF414M is fully hopped up (but not set up yet for my track & don't have time to do - I only race 2 Friday's a month). Most likely down the line will have to let go (or not) of the 414M which probably cost more of money spent re to options parts than the 415.

Just wanted to share my story on our thread during the holidays. But will also like to greet everyone A FUN FILLED HOLIDAY & A RC FILLED 2006.

Later........

I was just going by my off-road experience.

When you move the shocks further out on the arm (and move them further out on the tower to keep the angle the same) then that makes the suspension stiffer, as the ratio between suspension movement and shock travel is more linear.

When the shocks are moved in on the arm (closer to the inner pivot point) then the amount of suspension movement is now greater in relation to the shock travel, so in effect the shock (and therefore spring) are being compressed less over the same distance - in other words the spring is providing less resistance to the suspension movement - which makes it softer.

I'm not sure if that makes it clearer or more confusing

Anyway, I just wanted to know mainly because if hole 2 is what most people run on ashpalt with rubbers then it's easier to use that as my baseline setup and work from there
