i never had any experience with that engine, but i used to have .12 TR that runs really good between 240-270. Hope this helps.

I ran a O.S .12 CV-X Hyper all last year, I was racin at night time with the temp at about 110 C

Some people said to adjust until it is great in performance then check the temperature. So what i am saying is not to worry about the temp?

Each engine has it's own sweetspot for performance/temps and it varies with outside conditions, but in general, if your engine operates in the 190-260 F range, you will be fine. You do not want it to run much cooler than 190 and not much hotter that 260, that said, I have had engines that only came alive if I allowed them to be at 250-280...

This is true. Each engine has different settings. For this reason I never use a temp gun. I instead listen for the noise of the engine and once I reach the sweet spot I then turn the high end back out 1/8th of a full 360deg turn.

A manufacture could give you a set temp for an engine. You then go and set the engine to run at this temp with a temp gun and the engine goes like crap.

Why?

Simple, the manufacture cant take into account the different scenarios around the world. They could be at sea level with a certain temp and humidity etc and you could be in a different weather environment all together which would require a totally different setting.

Just go with your ears and feel for how sharp the throttle control is and you will not be far wrong. Once you hit that swet spot then back the needle out so the engine isnt squealing constantly for mercy.
