Default getting 30mph out of a 19t

i have a 19t team orion element and im trying to get more top end out of it, the motor has been dyno tested and has a max rpm of 28,510 right now im running it on my tc3 with a 24/72 gear combo, my tires are 2.5'' i want to bump my 24tooth pinion up to a 26t this would give my a gear ratio of 6.92 and should put my right at around 30mph, is this to much for a 19t?

I would run an even bigger pinion than a 26. something like 5.90 on a reedy 19t or like 6.50 on an element.

i've never heard that.

How hard is it to get 30MPH out of a stock touring car, let alone a 19 turn!

If you have a problem goin to a bigger pinion on the TC3, you can always buy the Trinity TC3 motor cam. It allows much bigger pinions. But like what was said.... You'd need to gear that motor around 5.30~6.00 pending if you racing on a large track or bashing in a large parking lot.

if i jump up to that 6.50 area with like a 28t will i be pushing it in the overheating dept.?
and i forget where i heard that think about once you get past a certain pinion size you need to drop the spur down but i cant find a 28t pinion on tower they only go up to 26t for 48pitch

Shouldn't be, run a couple mins of practice and if the motor isnt to hot too touch for a second or two, then its fine.

on a average sized 1/10 electric track stock motors will reach about 30mph. A guy at my local track had a radar gun out, the fastest stock motor down the straight was doing 51km/h.

What have other people gotten stock motors up to geared for a 5min race?

Radar guns will be inaccurate since there is nothing to bounce the waves off of. The lexan does a poor job, and the car is very small. Our track has tried it several times, all with failure.

Just keep gearing it up till it starts getting to hot 180+ or discoloration on the comm, and doesn't accelerate hard anymore, make sure your drive train is free! by the way we usually run 29 or 30/72 on a tc3 or 4 with a 19T.

On some of our tracks we run 60/31

Speeds go above 40MPH. (Measured on an AMB speed trap)

With the Element V2 even up to 60/35 due to the lack of RPM.

We normally run 4.9 to 5.15 over here with the element...
30mph is easy even with 27T so its really up to track size... if you are racing on track top speed should not be your priority thou...

If you decide to go that way & want to prevent heating issues go with a medium brush & purple all around or red to hit that speed
