Thank you, I guess I'll be switching to 64p then.
Another question..
Does anyone know if Xray or team associated on-road springs will fit the TRF shocks?
I know the xray springs have the same diameter of 1.5. I don't know if they're the same length or anything.
Just asking because I know my lhs has xray springs and not sure but most likely have AE springs and I would prefer to support them than making any online orders

Yes, Associated springs work fine on the Tamiya shocks, I use them all the time(especially since their range of stiffness is greater than the Tamiyas, an AE green is softer than any Tamiya, & an AE red is harder than a Tamiya white, & then AE springs can go further than that, very handy)....

Tested my car today happy with the chassis but having problem with the esc/motor.
Im using hobbywing ezrun 5.5T motor 60A esc combo but after 5mins of play the esc cuts for 2mins then it works again, was thinking its the receiver as its been wet before but steering works.
Gearing im using is stock 70T spur and 18T pinion outside temp was 30+ degress
Any help appreciated

I run 48P but the conversion is easy. The stock spur is roughly equivalent to a 70T 48P which would be about a 84T 64P spur.
I have run an 81T 48P but it sticks through the bottom of the chassis about 3mm. I haven't hit it on anything but I don't race outside. 81T 48P is equivalent to 108T 64P. I ordered a 73T 48P gear that I plan to switch to [I've gone back to the stock spur until it comes in] which is roughly a 97T in 64P.
So I'd say a 64P 108T spur is probably the largest you want to use for indoor racing on smooth surfaces but there is some risk since the spur sticks below the chassis.
If you have access to several 64P spurs around 96T to 98T, I suggest using the one fits without any part of the spur sticking below the chassis. If you are OK with the spur sticking below the chassis, then 108T fits. If you go much larger than 108T, it may rub on the aluminum mount or drag on the ground when the chassis rolls.

so back to me trying to run a fdr of 3.6, would say a 93t 64p spur gear and a 53t 64p pinion physically fit in the car thanks

For VTA I calculated 24 different FDR's that equal 3.5. I just don't know what spur gear to use.
The highest spur I've done is 93 with a pinion of 54. I didn't want to go much high because I don't know what's too big for 64 pitch gears. I also noted that 70/41 is exactly 3.5 if that makes any difference..
I've done every spur tooth count inbetween 69 to 93.
Does anyone have an opinion on what spur gear would work best? Even if it's higher than 93.
