Default How to disassemble a Mission Front One-way

Hey guys!

I have a mission front - oneway diff, and need to put my new RW racing pully on! Question, how does this thing come apart? and for that matter, how does it go back together? Dos? Donts? Tips?

Thanks for any info...

Ok great... I got my front end dissasembled, took apart the oneway, and my RW "mission one-way pully" doesn't fit. The Metal claw like thing that spreads into the holes in the pully, doesn't lign up in the slightest. So the standard pully goes right back on! YEAH GO ME!

Anybody know what happened? Is this a different type of one-way? Thanks for any info you guys might have.

holycow- there were 2 types of oneways. The original one had more parts (the centre axle and the "metal claw-like thingy" were separate parts). If you have this one, it doesn't fit the RW pulley. The newer ones have the axle & claw thingy machined from one piece, IIRC. I don't remember exactly when the one-way was changed, but is was a loooong time ago, before the RW pullies came out.
If you have the newer version with one-piece centre, chances are you have the wrong pulley (meant for front diff).

THere are only a total of 8 parts.

L outdrive
R outdrive
L dust cover
R dust cover
plastic pully
Center shaft/claw
tiny washer
one tough C-clip

Does this sound like the newer or older one?

If it's got a claw then it's the old one. It's a 2 piece part and they have a tendency to break. The later ones had a single piece with locators, all machined from solid.

It is possible to fit the RW pully to the old centre, i know someone who has done it. Just requires careful use of a dirll!!!

The shaft, and the claw that grabs the pully, is one solid piece.

The 2 piece ones are actually bonded together.

I'm running the old one-way with the RW-puley. It must have been quite easy to make the pulley fit as I can't remember what was different with it.
