You can put orings between the screws and the sway bar mount which will allow the bulkheads a little flex

It probably doesn't matter but you have it mounted incorrectly. The 3rd hole in the mount is in front of the other two, so on the standard deck you use the two rear holes. I lined up the two chassis to check btw.

The mount also brought my servo forward by about 1mm and it hit the wiper arm so I had to sand my servo case a little so the rack would move freely

I noticed Tower Hobbies listed the 417 as discontinued......is there a 418 in the works?

I was wondering the same. Is the 417 really discontinued?

The TRF cars are limited/special run kits which are not in continous proudction, hence why they apear as discontinued when the production run ends. Tamiya gauges demand and then do another production run as and when they see necessary.

It looks like the typical carbon patern are printed.

SO STAY AWAY FROM THE CSO LOWER DECKS !!!!!
yeah mine was not flat either, but I've heard good reports so it's on my car ready for racing this week. We'll see how it gets around in a couple of days

I have a few issues I would like some help with...
Setup: 417x
1.5* front toe out
3.5* rear toe in
1.5 front camber
2 rear camber
Front spool
Rear gear diff 1000k
45wt oil all 4 dampers
White front springs
Blue rear springs
Alum c hubs
Stiff swaybar front and rear
2.25mm lower deck
2.5 mm upper deck

Issues: waaaay too twitchy. I have a very fast servo, can that be the issue? Should I go back to the stock decks? The rear is too eager to kick out. I feel that once the twitchiness is resolved, this too will be reduced/removed. The twitchiness is at initial turn in Abd my correction does nothing to assist in reducing it.

A local who also raced the 417 said ot was never good on carpet, tge chassis flexed too much. I explained that I now have the stiffer decks and he said he may bring his to do carpet also.

The surface is traction compound soaked carpet. It's very high bite.

Oh, and savox servos do not work well in very high traction situations. The stregenth isn't there and the response time is very low. I hit one wall at a reasonably slow speed and managed to break 6 teeth. The other just stopped working and was very hot to the touch. They both had metal teeth. I switched to 'ol reliable, my Hitec servo. This one was just fine I just feel its too fast.
