Has anyone tried the Samix Aluminum chassis? If so, where did you get it? The link on the Samix Facebook page does not work and the only place I have been able to find it (RC Mart) is sold out. Any help would be appreciated.

Bought my Samix alu chassis here on rctech. I really like the way the car works on asphalt now. No need for me to get on the 419 because I'm happy with this chassis.

Is anyone running or at least have tested the raceberry soft chassis and can compare it to the stock chassis? I have read that the stock chassis is far too stiff?

Another question: has anybod else had a problem with bad manufactured aluminium parts ? My center post wasn't chamfered and so there was a small piece of aluminium hanging off the center post. It's my first tamiya kit and i was quite astonished of the quality. Some screws and some washers were also missing. Could it be that it is just a bad kit or even a series? I have a european version with number 200.

Must be a fluke. I've built so many Tamiya kits and have not once encountered a defective or missing part. I've had more issues with Associated and other smaller brand RC companies. You can try contacting Tamiya and they should be able to take care of you.

I'm not running a Raceberry but have the Samix conversion along with another spare Samix lower chassis. Stock chassis should be great for carpet and is honestly fine even on asphalt for stock class racing. For mod asphalt, yeah, you'll probably want a softer chassis to help with grip.

I've only had one race on my Samix conversion so far but it has been positive in low grip asphalt, could drive it a bit more harder and feels more planted.

Something looks very wrong with that centre post for sure.

Get in contact with Tamiya or your retailer.

Missing parts is very odd for them as said.

Actually I have made that edge myself, so it at least doesn't cut the belt. My hands were fast er than my braun and I forgot to take pictures of how it came so it would be quite foolish to contact them. But I have ordered it as soon as I had finished the build. I just wanted to know if somebody else had the same or some similar issues.
On both of my Associated kits I had some missing screws and one ballcup was cracked and some small cheap parts like that. Screws and washers are really not the problem because you have a lot of them sooner or later.

Well, at least the possibility to find some defective parts in my next Tamiya kit is virtually zero��

With 418 i am running 17.5 blink... the stock chassis is great... i just want more...

Ive maxed out my motors and driving.... want to see if a softer chassis will allow more corner speed before sliding...

I use VG Gear Diff Grease 42212 and no leaking Diff.

With what diff oil?

VG diff grease is no good with silicone oil. It will work at first, but then will break down and leak.

The VG diff oil is mineral based - these are designed to go together.

There are some pretty bad translations out there, but essentially "don't use with silicone oil, use only with TRF VG oil!" is the message.
