Not sure if the pics do it justice, but the color is actually "blue anodized aluminum". I did 3 light coats of it then two coats of silver to give it a glow. I'm almost done, I just have to give it one last fine dermal over, install light buckets and finally paint and install the aluminum mesh to give it the real grill-work look.

Looking great there Evo13 , I also did my E30 m3 , tamiya anodized blue but I did heavy coats and backed with black, changed out my wheels for a more aggressive 7mm front and 9mm rear offsets to fill in that gt2 m3 widebody better , also picked up a 1/24 micro , ive always wanted a awd mini z but after seeing atomic's newest release I took the leap , carbon fiber chassis and top deck , brushless , 2.4 gig , awd !! I added aluminum shock towers and aluminum motor/ spur mount , added the audi body as well , =)

Started construction of the TC6.2 chassis today
It really is a different and new car from the TC6.1 WC
The 1/24 E46 m3, I bought the Silver upgrade body, but should convert it back to the black so as to match my car
On a side note, I construct and collect model cars of all scales. One scale I'm fond of is the 1/43. I picked up this one the other day. I use to have this kit in a Bandi 1/8th RC car way back in the late 70's. It was about my 3rd RC car with an aluminum pan chassis and a styrene body. It was slow, but man it looked so real driving around.
Keep the photos and posts coming Gang! I like seeing everyone's projects

Viper Z, Thanks for all the kind words!!!
Here's the finished BMW E92 with aluminum mesh and light buckets:
Here's my Die Cast Exoto 1992 Ricarrco Patrease F1 car:
These are some hot wheels F1 cars I had buried in a cabinet for the 2005 season.
And finally a car from Autoart. I had 5 others, but unfortunately my 3 yr old got to them:

Viper Z,
Funny, we all must be kindred spirits here. I usually like to sit and get comfy before I check out new post on this thread. A few comments: The TC6.2 is looking good so far. What are your set up plans for the 71 Firebird? I'm really, really looking forward to seeing how you hook that one up.
Would you believe I have an identical ole school Porsche 911 (your model car) in 1/8 body shell for my Serpent 977 viper. I like it except for that bulky rear wing assembly. I started it back around Christmas time but after some improvisation to try to warm up to the body style, I just couldn't connect with it and just shelved it.
I really like the way the e92 came out. The mesh works really well, I'm def going to include it in the rest of my designs. I think with your approach to the hobby, it could work really well for you. I'll post a pic of the one I bought. The company actually have all sorts of mesh patterns and sizes. I also used some liquid masking film. It was my first time using it and I like it as well.
I must admit, having completed my first electric car, I'm liking electric a lot more than nitro, and hence I might sell off all but one of my nitro's and commit to electric.

Evo, I wouldn't mid seeing that RSR body you shelved... I know what you say, I have a few projects like that too
The Firebird TA will most likely make it on to the TC6.1. I plan on painting it either White with the blue stripe like a 1970, or Red with the flaming chicken, like a 1973.
I agree with you, electric is the way for me. I use to fly Nitro RC planes, but I'm all electric now. I also use to have a few Nitro cars, an Associated 1/8 pan car was one. That was a long time ago. Even out at the RC flying field, the majority is electric nowadays. Easier, cleaner, and less noise...
Here is a video I shot a few years ago that shows the contrast between my electric airplane and a nitro plane in noise (@~3:30 in). It's quite the racket! The Plane is a Sundowner 50 (50cc equivalent) running a Scorpion 440kv on a 5000mah, 8s lipo. She's been clocked at 132mph.
M235, those foamies look great on the R8! Really nice looking kit, I may have to get one too!
Okay, the TC6.2 roller is about ready to go. I have a Sanwa servo coming for it. I'm looking for a 17.5 motor, and maybe a 13.5 for Super Stock. I mounted my 5 turn just to see how it may look. For ESC I may get another Tekin RS, or was thinking a RSX. I have a Toro 120 that I can run now, but I like the look and feel of the Tekin stuff.
TC6.2
Here is the TC6.1 (left) & TC 6.2 (right). I am slightly disappointed the body posts are not in the same location, thus body shells will not be interchangeable between chassis. Overall the TC6.2 is a nice design, and looks to have some key improvements over the 6.1

Here is one 1/43 model I'm fond of. Its Aryton Senna's 1992 MP4 McLaren/Honda. I built it from a Tameo white metal kit. It has many photo etched parts like brake calpiers, and was a great quality kit. I'm not sure I could build to this level anymore as my hands and eyes are just not that good anymore
Here it is beside a Toonie for scale
It's a heavy little sucker

Viper Z,
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the RC Plane video. IT was funny when I saw the guy in the next bin over controlling his plane in the air, I said to my son who was watching with me "yeah, this would be the time I'd land", and right after, you said "the skies are getting busy, time to land".
Love the Ayrton Senna car, or anything Senna related. He inspired me so much, I even named my 3 yr old son after him. But the car looks really good, as well as the TC6.1&2
Here is the porsche, excuse the look of the shell. Grabbing it off the shelf, I realized my boy got to this as well
I originally bought it to go on this car "serpent 977 Viper":

@ evo13 you should definitely finish that porsche body !! And cant wait to see how the AMG turns out , !!
@viperz some nice flying ! And the tc6"s are looking great ! And thank you for the kind words , the r8 is getting there I believe I can get away with running a wider wheel/tire in the front ill experiment later , its a very nice little car , I love micros
@evo13&@viperz u guys take some amazing pictures !
I got some work done on my rally car, will install the light buckets when I get some leds in , and ill problably go for a narrower wheel up front will give the tamiya rally blocks more breathing room

Evo, thanks for posting the RSR. Who make that body? I agree with M235, you should finish it and see what it looks like when painted. The 977 is a nice looking chassis. I can see the fascination with the mechanical aspects of a Nitro car
Looking forward to the SLS! I like the look of the M3 in the background
That great on naming your son after Artyon! He was a great driver! Yeah, the skie can get busy at time. In all my years of that I've only had one mid air collision, which was sort of fun. Although totally blown apart, it was rebuild able because it was foam. The other plane that collided was balsa, as such was a total loss "
M235, thanks on the photos! The Evo Rally car is going to look great!I like the fine details like the exhaust pipes and intercooler front!

thanks for the kind words ViperZ ! The rally car is coming along just needs some rally blocks , too many people do subaru rally cars so I decided to give the evo a shot as well. Passed by my lhs and got a hold of some 3mm offset front foams for the micro , looks better.
I am really into offroad and scalers/crawlers but u guys have me looking more and more into onroads lol ..... first 3 pics are o foams , last 2 are on the drift wheels/tires =)
