Maybe the lipo stick packs use a thicker wire when compared to the nimh stick packs? that could/would explain why you got 'issues' with the wires in the suspension? I know some of the cheaper stick packs use like 14guage wire - and maybe your lipo uses a 12guage?
Even the smaller capacity Nimh with light wires foul the rear suspension unless you can cable tie the wires tight to the chassis to keep them away

Glad to hear

They must have very smal wire.

Have you tried fitting any hard case stick pack style lipo?

Some of you realize this is just a FUN sport level car do you?? If it doesn't live up to your expectations then maybe send it off to ebay and get you a nice Xray 009 instead ANY way, I think I'll be keeping my Cup Racer. I ran mine at the track for the first time today and ENJOYING it. Had a bunch of folks running over asking what the heck was I driving and where can they buy one

Yes agree it is just a fun car. But a basic design would have worked far better. There was no need for the complicated battery system that lets the overall package down

Gotta agree - people have to realize that this isn't a IFMAR worlds kind of car

It will work just FINE racing in the appropriate classes

BTW, that's a sweet looking ride - I'm assuming ABC body? What kind of motors are you guys running out there?

Did you try the standup socks with the 240z body?

Budget racer doesn't have to mean poor design. Name another car where you dangle the battery under the top deck for the majority of batteries

I notice some purchasers are already getting defensive

Mike, can you use the 240z body with the front shock like that?
