From the outside, same as the usual items, they have a slot cut into the back for the pin and obviously no groove for the O-ring.

They only problem is they can sometimes get stuck in the wheels and it is easy for the pins to fall out (though not while the wheels are attached.

They are way better, if you run modified and spool or oneway. With the stock ones and 1mm wheel spacer the contact patch between the wheel & hex is very narrow, only the outer half of the hex makes contact (~1mm width), the inner side actually sits outside the wheel (due to the spacer) and the o-ring groove is wasted space. The result is that when you slightly brush a wall or other immovable object, the hex will cut itself through the wheel quite easily and you'll have a 3WD car. With the U3221 the contact patch is a lot wider (due to no o-ring groove) and this problem doesn't exist.
I only run those on the front axle, never had a problem with the original rears, because the diff will give up instead of the wheel.

I've run both. They both feel very similar on the track. But the adjustability of the Speed Passion is a great thing.

Thanks guys for the wheel hex tips. I guess that's why last summer I had a few 'rounded-out' RP30-36's.
