The YZ4, it's early days, I've only been to two meetings so far, but am loving it. Seems to drive somewhere between my '13 spec XB4 that I ditched the 22-4 to go back to & the Durango 410 I ran before that, which is probably the best car I've had.

You must have put a micron less paint on the bodyshell than me. I'm all but a gram the same.

I don't know how many teeth the YZ-4/YZ-2 idler has, but it is the same size as the B5M one if this is what you would like to know. I compared them back to back when I built my YZ-2.

Hi all,

Put mine through its paces and have a couple of queries:

1. It's terrible on jumps - noses down all the time, and requires full throttle in the air to even keep it able to land... Is anyone else finding this? I have tried moving weight as far back as possible!?

2. Struggling for rear traction... Though more toe has improved this along with weight!

3. I see there is a LOT of play in the front arm inner mounts as the inserts move in the Ali mount... Anyone finding this a problem? I added 1.5mm spacer in front before the brace but now everything has slop! I see the team guys at the Worlds had a different front brace that clamped around the chassis.

Thanks,

Dave

For point 1&2 it sounds as though you have too much anti squat. Try looking at the rear suspension mounts. Check to see if they are the right way up and that you are using what the instructions recommend. There are parts in the kit which are not used.

Cant help with point 3. Mines not sloppy at all. Sorry.

Just on point 3 - when mounted there is about 1.5mm gap between the front brace and the front bumper - this enables the inserts to move back and forward about 1.5mm?

Thanks for the idea re. Antisquat, I am using front insert high and rear using 2ho high I think!? I could swap the front to low? My current setup is very close to kit std!

I ran the stock set up for 10 laps and instantly switched to a Lee Martins setup (as close as I could get it without upgraded parts). I would go with a non stock setup route.

after 2 days of running my car had tons of drag. I took out the diffs and my front one was feeling still new. I swapped out the bevel gears for some used ones and it was a night and day difference.

might also run your belts as loose as possible.
