New Yokomo TC, the BD-5
#1636
Hey Ant, are you guys running 1380 down south?
I just cant get my head around how a car like a BD5 could be perfectly balanced without having weight to compensate for that heavy lump of a motor sitting where it is.
I know that setting mine up now, with first going through setting tweak and then putting the car on corner scales, I have to compensate for the motor or the car is crap, been part of my problem with the handling I have been having
Well after having to machine my wheel hexs down to 4mm, i now have a dramatic improvement in the cars performance.
So it looks like all is good with my cars again, but I will be selling my #2 car soon.

Are you running the car with std suspention blocks? or did you put the 42mm fronts, and 41.3 rear front block and still found that the car needed to be more narrow? Im running std rear width and 42mm front.

Mines here
Cost me a load extra when the UK Government screwed me, plus handling etc etc.
Oh well, i've taken a quick look and it looks uber Sexy
Will start the build tonight. Want it done, ready for a big meeting on Sunday. May have to be a quick 1 colour spray job on the shell to make sure i'm ready.
A big thank you to Elwyn at Hobby Haven for all the help with this. Another order for spares and tuning options will be on it's way next week hopefully.

Ive been testing the past weekend.
basically standard BD5W
I personally don't think the car has to be narrower. we actually never used the 42mm blocks apart from the euros. there might be some track again where they are good but generally my starting point for any track is always 43.5.
