I bought some "middle of the road" 0.8 gears to try out. I got 1st gear- 21t & 22t pinion/ 58t & 59t spur & 2nd gear- 27t & 28t pinion/ 53t & 54t spur. Our straight away is 200' + depending on the layout, but I run on some fairly small tracks too (I know you've ran at Dougs).

Is it worth the money? Or should I stay with the stock rear stabilizer?

For you guys running the 0.8 module gears, what kind of spread can you use without bogging the engine when it shifts? I just bought some to try this year and not sure what the limits are. I can't get out yet to test (WAAAAAAAAY to cold!!!!).

figure out the gear ratio you are using now and find the set of 0.8module gears with similar ratios

the guys I know are running 7 to 9 spread. usually 7 or 8. If you try 5 or less the car will not seem to accelerate when it hits second.
The new RD axles (they are not 3 racing axles) are as good as the mugens in my opinion and in some cases better. (I've bent the snot out of a few of them and they did not break) They all break if you take a hart hit. The most important thing on Mugen cars 1/10th and 1/18th with cv's is to grease the joint every race. Otherwise the cross shaft will emit rusty particles and wear out in a blink. No matter whose axles you use. Oh yea tighten up the servo saver tight.(LIKE 5 OR SIX THREADS SHOWING) Usually its the hard jam on an impact that overcomes the servo saver bad that breaks them. I have not broke an axle since I did that. your also less apt to tear the knuckle off.

Need to test if a 20/25 looks fine for me, sometimes I race on a track that LOVES close ratios.

That's good to hear Dennis, I've just gotten a set of the new and improved RDLogics front drives for WinterNats. If there's anywhere that'll test 'em it's Ft.Myers. Fer Sher.
What are you using to grease them with? Trinity Purple Stuff, or Ronnie Grease?
