Default Castle Link Torque Limit Question

I run my SCTE for fun on a 3s and have the Torque Limit turned down some for better throttle control. If I decide to pop a 2s in it at times will that effect my ESC since it was setup and rev tested when i had a 3s in it with the Castle Link.
Hope I have explained myself...... I think .

Default Sidewinder SCT combo

Hey guys, just got finished with a fresh scte build. Bump chassis/brace, tuning kit, HA shocks, KH front diff mount, Tekno center CV's. Anyway I've installed a Castle sidewinder sct esc and 3800 motor I already had. Has the fan built into the case and I have a castle fan on the motor. Haven't hit the track yet but in the street this combo seems decent. I've heard these esc's won't last long in the losi. Anyone run this setup?

did they change the gears in the gear sets ? I noticed the gears are more at a point. I can not get then to turn once I put it together. Everything is down and tight. Is their a new case for these gears or did I get something packaged wrong ?

NEWBIE HERE....

I am currently running a MMM with 2200kv motor on 2s. It was stolen out of my traxxas revo. It seems that the teking rx8 and 4600kv motor is the best set up for the scte.

what advantages will i get if i upgrade to this motor?
compared to my current set up, is the upgrade worth $350?

I`ve had 2 or 3 of these blow on me in that truck, even 2 MMP speedo`s have gone on me. I am switching now. Sell the one you have and get something a little more beefy. I just missed out on a race this weekend because of esc problems.

4600 is a lot lighter and faster on 2s.

Double check that the squares on the sides of the pins are correctly seated. That has happened to meant times and I have to open the case a few times till I get it correctly

Do yourself a favor and sell the sidewinder esc and put the money towards a Hobbywing SCT Pro or a Tekin RX8.Its only going to overheat on you,the losi scte is way to heavy for that esc.

I run a mmp without any issues in this truck. Some people have bad luck with castle and some have great luck, i'm the latter. I've heard just as many issues with tekin stuff as well.

Thanks guys for the input. Thats what I thought. I think I'll try the Hobbywing SCT to run with the castle 3800. I'll be racing mostly on the smaller indoor track at Nor-Cal.

I was running full droop during the races, so I limited droop to about where it was stock, and I will try that on the wednesday night races.

Also, I have a MMP in my truck, it has worked flawlessly so far (tenshock sc411 4600kv). Also I ran a MMP in my VE8 for a couple seasons with no issues, I use external BEC's though.

Ya I've heard the same. I think it's agreed that the sidewinder won't cut it for this truck though. The main complaints I've seen about castle is the weak BEC although I run a cap and haven't had a problem. I thought I heard castle will take your old esc for a discount on a new esc. Upgrade program or something. Anyone had any experience with that?
