Our first club race is this week end, should be fun!!
Everyone pays member rate race fee’s for the first race, plus novices are free for their first race!!
We will run a novice class regardless of number of cars, on-road cars only please.(we will make exemptions, subject to inspection of car to ensure it will not damage the carpet)
Track set up will be from 5 to 6pm on Saturday, with open practice to follow. We will also do pre registration as well. Please come out to help, the more help we have, the easier it is.
Everyone pays member practice rates for the first practice night!
Doors open at 8:30am on Sunday, drivers meeting at 9:30am, first race on the line at 9:45( I pushed the times back a bit due to some feedback)
I did a quick survey of the club members of classes that they are running. The most popular classes this year look to be TC stock and 12th scale stock. Lots of interest has been expressed on getting a TC superstock/mod class going as well. F1 seems to be getting a bit of interest, just need two more cars to make it a full heat. 12th scale mod is also gaining a small toe hold, there are a few of us that would like to run it, just need a few more to make a go of it. On the bottom of the list is WGT, with only two people wanting to run it, if its going to run, we need a few more! also, CTA only one person said they would run, so again, interest in this class has dropped off.
This year we are going to run a Championship series for each class that qualifies*. You need to be a club member in order to qualify for the series. Points will be 100 for 1st, 99 2nd, 98, 3rd, etc. plus one bonus point for TQ, your top 8 races will be used to calculate the championship.(best 8 of 11). Prizes for 1st will be awarded at the end of the season.(Prize value yet to be determined, but will be valued at no less than the cost of membership**) I will be setting up the series on a website that everyone can access to track their standings as the series progresses.
Membership Fee’s will be due by the next club race, Nov. 9th. If fee’s are not paid by then, your points for the series will not be counted.(points will start to count from the race you have paid your membership) We will have a detailed fee schedule at the races that outlines adult, junior, and family pricing.
Members are asked to please pre-pay your race fee’s, there are two options for this, pay for half a season at a time, or pay for the whole season up front.(There are 5 races first half, 6 races second half) If you pay the whole season, you will get a one race discount. Again, fee pre payment will be due by the next club race, the 9th of Nov. to qualify for the discount. Race fee’s are posted in the first post.
I posted in the schedule that we would be having a swap meet on Saturday night, I did not get a chance to really promote this, but feel free to set up a table and sell some of your unused R/C equipment, the only thing we ask is, please donate a portion of your sales to the club. It is the club after all that makes it possible to have this opportunity.
See you all this weekend, can’t wait!!
*we will talk about how a class qualifies on Saturday
